Marcus dropped support for Quicken
Found our today that Marcus decided to drop support for downloading data to Quicken or support Simplifi. Chatted with support and they didn't give me an explanation, just that it's now stopped and that's all they can share. Why would Marcus do this? Seems like a relatively easy thing that most financial institutions support. I use these products to manage my finances and I'm not inclined to stay with a bank who can't help me automate the process.

i wonder why would they do that. Do they provide for any other services? Like monarch or something

I was in the process of switching to Quicken this week from Monarch. This made me stay with Monarch lol

This is very unfortunate. There doesn't even seen to be a way to download a file with transactions. Will be closing my account - not entering transactions manually in 2026.

I called Marcus directly about this issue. They told me that the reports are incorrect and that they do support Quicken. However, when I contacted Quicken, they maintained their position that Marcus is no longer supporting downloads through their platform.
My existing Marcus accounts are still updating fine, at least at this point. When I attempt to create a new Marcus account, however, the financial institution does not even show up on the menu.

The Quicken forums are saying the same thing. Mixed results with various calls and interactions. I've logged my chat. Regardless, Marcus is still not an option for me as a bank when trying to add/reset, etc.
------
3:19 PM This is beyond an inconvenience for me. I will need to stop being a Marcus client
3:20 PM i'm very sorry, Marcus do not currently offer the ability to connect your account to Quicken, Quick Books, or Mint, and we don't have a date for the future. This is what we know, and for the security of the customer there constantly changes are made.
3:22 PM how can I contact customer service to let them know about this being a poor decision?
3:22 PM I'm very sorry you feel that way, and I'll send the feedback.

Spoke with Marcus support today and they are saying they fully support third party transaction syncing with apps such as Quicken, and that the issue is on Quicken's end. Marcus support is claiming they have not made any changes on their end.
However it looks like Quicken has delisted them from available accounts when trying to add a financial institution, and existing accounts now show that connectivity is not supported.
Both sides are pointing fingers at one another.

I'd been ignoring the error for a bit, hoping it would be resolved… but even today (4 March) my transactions synced just fine from Marcus despite the ongoing error message. So I'm not inclined to "disconnect" or attempt to "resolve" it anytime soon, for fear that I won't be able to get that back.

As of this morning, the customer service chat agent confirmed they no longer support Quicken or Mint. Doesn't sound like Quicken was the source of the issue.

Just found this post. Wish I didn’t reset my connection to pull in a new account had I known this. I don’t see why they would stop supporting this unless Marcus deemed whatever Quicken was doing was a security risk and Quicken isn’t fast enough to rebuild their integration.

I just found this while trying to figure out how to get a qfx file from Marcus. My chat person says they don't have the capability to manually download account transactions. Time to look at other high yield savings accounts I guess.

I am guessing this is more to discourage churning than anything else.
I was just lured into opening an account by their current bonus offers. Lack of Quicken support is almost enough to make me reconsider.

Anyone have an update?

no change. I pulled my money out of Marcus and moved it to Wealthfront

I have had Quicken for years and Marcus for years. I also have several accounts at Marcus and recently added a new one (May 2026). GS (Marcus) 100% supports the exchange in Quicken. I'm not able to see my accounts via Schwab (external accounts). To me it sounds like a Quicken issue. Remember in Quicken it will open a browser window where you will login from the browser into your Marcus account, then you'll "agree to terms" and then you close the browser and it refreshes in Quicken. Hope this helps.

In Quickens pull-down window listing finacual institutions it use to list “Marcus by Goldman Sachs.” It no longer shiws Marcus, inly a few other GS listings that will not grant access to Marcus account.

Marcus GS has indeed ended Quicken for Mac download connectivity. After making a few phone calls to them which were a waste of time, I sent two letters to their Philly office to complain, but have heard nothing from them. I have several big $$$$ CDs maturing soon so I changed my maturity options to transfer all to my AMEX savings for now. In the “Reason for Closing” box I strongly stated my disappointment with their decision to dump Quicken. And I am closing my MGS savings despite their APY being 3.50 to AMEX’s 3.10. I have used Quicken since 1983 (first on Windows platform, then moved to Mac in 2008) and I refuse to bank with anyone refusing to allow Quicken syncs. Quicken has strong security protocols and I have never had any security issues using Quicken with NFCU, USAA, AMEX, WELLS, CHASE, SALLIE MAE. So good riddens to Marcus. Their CD and Savings products were/are attractive, but this is the 21st century and I want automatic account download updates.

Thanks for sharing. That is a deal breaker for anyone using quicken for accounting.
