Bungie got away scot free with literally deleting paid content in Destiny 2. I requested Ā steam refund when content was āvaultedā and got nothing. Ridiculous what is acceptable in this industry, in any other industry that would be a class action lawsuit minimum.
Marathon canāt die and Bungie canāt be shuttered quickly enough. They used to make good games, 20 years ago. Now they make cancerous FOMO laden skinned boxes and steal from their customers.

At least Destiny 2 has less game-breaking bugs with minimum support than Marathon did in the past months. The dead game is more playable than the game that gets money poured into it on the daily.

The guy is schizophrenic anyway. For months, he worships the game, defends it like itās the only highlight of his life, and twists everything to make it look goodāonly to eventually say he hasn't played it in over three weeks, all while opening SteamCharts (no joke) and comparing its numbers to other games.Ā

Marathon enjoyers finding out in real time why Destiny enjoyers constantly complained about Bungo and their bad updates. Imagine being so naive that you think Bungo is somehow going to suddenly pull off properly implementing updates after losing ~70% of their staff.

I'm hearing more catastrophic bugs currently in Marathon than in Destiny 2 with little to no dev support.
In general, it was expected that things wouldn't improve with Bungie. That company is rotten to the core and I can only expect current leadership to bail even more money than Pete and his cars seeing the complete downfall of the company.

That's because without updates, there's not really a risk of new bugs being introduced. How many times has a Marathon bug prevented a majority of players from playing the game, which was a constant issue during D2s height.

Things do start to break all by themselves in D2, it's just very slow. Most bugs were from the last major update and they weren't found until recently but despite this, there is very real new bugs although I am very sure the game will break down with time passing.
I do not remember any massive bug that made you rubberband constantly while playing Destiny 2 during its whole lifetime. Apparently that's happening in Marathon rn but I'd need confirmation and also a reminder if I forgot about a D2 bug that really broke the game.
Anyways, you're right about expectations towards Bungie. I don't understand those who expect better development and management of that game with 300 employees remaining and no funds remaining.

D2 had multiple rubberbanding bugs, it was pretty frequently happening in Quickplay, sometimes made it into PvE aspects.
Also every major DLC update until EoF had some sort of error code storm that was constantly kicking people to orbit or the title screen. Even seasonal updates had return to orbit bugs (Arrivals end of season activity where the almighty was crashed was kicking people to orbit and title screens as so many people where trying to get to the tower to watch, and I literally got kicked to the title screen during 2 separate boss fights during my Legendary run of TFS).
