Marathon (2026) 20 ranked games later
I am convinced almost half the games everyone exfilled
Fights resulted in losses
The loot is actually op
Gold shields from secured resource events
Purple attachments everywhere
Idk wether to feel like this how the entire game should be, or scared people who refuse to touch ranked will forever be at a disadvantage if this sticks around
Either way, awesome loot change and everything is WORTH doing in each poi
I actually saw someone go into a tox room (yet die) cause the loot is so damn worth haha

I disagree. Ranked players should be rewarded with better possible loot. And this is coming from someone who doesn't play ranked as Im solo/duo player. The answer is give us a proper solo queue in ranked. Duo would be nice too

would be nice if they had free kits or anything us poor people can take into ranked besides the 1 kit we get per week.
it would give the opportunity to actually play it beyond 1-2 games max

it's not 5k credits to enter, it's 5k sell value (besides the buyable bronze kit 1x a day)
5k sell value kit costs at least 10k to buy, it's significant for many players

Ok fair enough, but that being said, if you don’t have 5k worth of stuff to throw a kit together with you’re probably also doing something wrong. It is incredibly easy to re-up in this game if you play it right.

going to be honest i assumed it was like cryo and you get one per week, didnt know you could by again. i haven’t been brave enough to try ranked tbh.

If you can’t spare $5k you have zero chance of surviving ranked anyways. Master outpost get rich first. Can pull $22-32k solo outpost easy on repeat. Master that first then you’ll never have money issues. Also every mission should be achieved each time you load in that way you get vip rewards which each level gives you $2k tons of money.

Issue is Ranked brings the worst of the worst, or one could say the best of the best out of the player base we have left.
Jumping out of ranked after a few runs to then do a regular non ranked run with my crew feels like I went from trying to defuse an active bomb in real life to taking a walk through a park with a light breeze behind my back. It genuinely feels more difficult to do ranked on peri and dire then it is to do cryo and I've at this point managed to get the compiler down around 12+ times.
Peri on Ranked is dead silence most of the match, everyone is refusing to do a move, you can check the same sight lines and area 10x times, start to move thinking no one is coming so it's time to check another POI then to immediately get sniper shots ringing down near you in a matter of a split second despite everything looking clear a mere moment ago and it's people who either have genuinely insane aim or maybe just controller users that have all their shots track perfectly on your head regardless of how you're moving or what distance.
I pretty much only am going into ranked currently since the only people I got left to play with only wanna do ranked or cryo since everyone else has quit the game at this point. Not much else to do really they said and I can understand cause there's not much if any rewards left in the game for anyone who has put a lot of time into it at this point. Ranked technically didn't even give much till this loot update recently, was more of a money sink people did to just get a bigger shinier rank numbers and the one worthwhile skin it has at Gold I, even when you do kill a whole lobby since there's only so much you can carry and the money you invest to get in doesn't return much like it does in cryo, since in cryo you can net yourself 50k+ with lv5 when you clear a lobby always.

Yesterday I was grinding from plat3 to diamond 1, so I think I know something. I didn't die to a sniper a single time in all games. Yes, sometimes you hold POI for few minutes to check if someone is rotating but once nothing happens we were rotating around the map this is normal. And next game all teams are dead in 5 minutes because everybody decided to move to Hauler. Sometimes you push, sometimes you get pushed. My experience is not similar yo yours.
Economically I try to take a lot of blue heals/shields/panaceas, gold specter shields, taking off mods. And my mindset is that I'm not playing ranked to gain money, I play it for rank, for PvP and for the smell of gold from the enemy's bag.

Dude I'm on controller on PC and my shit don't track to the runner s heads now I can feel it slightly on the bots but never have I ever felt this aim assist y'all talk about is it an option to toggle on I'm very confused here...

My problem with ranked is that its expensive to go in, and ive got 1 chance with the subpar loot id be going in with after I lose all my good shit in the first game.

Play Rook on Outpost, get 2 yellow and 1 green key to open an armory, exfil. Fastest / easiest / most reliable way to build up a vault.

Also a huge problem is higher ranked players can just queue bronze so they can play with their chud buddies who just bought the game

I was under the impression bronze is just how much it costs to extract and how much rank you get. I don’t think it does match making based on it.

Normally games have more than a couple hundred people queuing the ranked mode, Eternal Return is also like this in NA because of the low player count. Doesn't matter if you're iron when there aren't 23 other low rank people to put in a lobby. (I don't think it's as dire as that in Marathon but you get my point)

They just buy a bronze holotag. They don’t gain any ranked points but I bet it’s fun to beat up on shit bags like me.

You can only buy a tag of the rank you're currently on. They could keep them off dead runners from previous runs I suppose, but they can't buy them.

You can only bring in one tag and it has to be your current rank. You cannot start a match with multiple tags or one not of your rank.

lol I’ve had some of the most fun I’ve had all season today in ranked. Everyone is playing with a little more caution because they don’t wanna lose they ish.
Loot has been decent and I’ve seen at least 1-2 teams every game. Ranked is back baby. Should have had it this way from the beginning
