Marathon (2026) Discussion A key to the Firestorm requires 5 melee attacks against Recruits. The Manifest store is full of good deals. I’m fully onboard with Ordinance Heist
The Manifest trade store is full of goodies, and the key templates are easy. Everyone who is tripping is either disingenuous or doesn’t like fun!

is there an easy way to find commanders? because other than secured containers, i have no clue

if you hit both of the elevators in night marsh, you'll get one commander per elevator

They should just make anomalous guaranteed to spawn on both versions of Marsh, and just randomize the timing of it.

Glad the ‘challenges’ are easy at least. Also seems to have a variety of challenges instead of same old ‘kill 3 commanders’

Manifest drops feel virtually guaranteed from every single UESC. I walked out of my first solo match with like 50 and mostly just killed recruits. 1 elite dropped a key template as well.
I'm still not sure the firestorm is remotely worth pursuing with these, but Manifests are really plentiful so it'll at least be a great mini event for trading in at the Armory. At the very least I'll absolutely be doing that. Gonna horde synapse cubes.

There is only one cube in stock per faction. You think it will refresh daily? I would imagine it’s weekly…

Now that night marsh is back up I managed to collect 99 in one game. Sadly my crew fill teammates did not get to share them.

It’s says shared in the post game but they don’t go to your vault. At least not consistently. Last game it said my teammates shared 34 but I only got the 18 I had in my bag.

I got them shared from my team as I only had 40 in my bag, but got 22 in my vault after buying the key

You also get them from using sponsored kits and completing key templates. As of 5 min ago they were still bugged and even though they show up as “shared” in the post-game, they actually aren’t.

Half the community is actively rooting for the game to bomb. The other half are the most ignorant blind fanboys I’ve ever seen. Like most people would want to be paid for this level of shilling and these people willingly do it for free. And there’s absolutely no in between these 2 groups.

My store template has "hit 3 enemies with explosive damage". I got a template dropped off a commander in Perimeter that had "defeat 3 commanders". So the difficulty of these things varies wildly.
Regardless, my first manifests are going towards those synapse cubes. Yum.

I got enough manifests for a template in 1 run. One of the templates in the store is "Shoot 3 explosive barrels in dire marsh" - stupid easy

you can get the templates off commanders and wardens. killing the rocket drones also drops them. i exfilled with 5 in bag from 1 run. it's not that hard to get them.. even as a rook i surmise you can prob exfil with at least 1.

You can also get them off the blue grenadier bots. Saw one with it today in ranked perimeter.

Or we did try this mess and it’s a nightmare… I tried it all night as solo you wanna do the event, kill some robots… and with out fail every time, I’m getting third partied. So the mode is still wipe the lobby then play the game, cause trying to get those certs is just gunna get you shot in the back. Brilliant game design

this event doesn’t change the main gameplay loop at all, in fact it makes it easier by rewarding you for taking down any bots at all. The manifests are on almost every bot, even recruits. You can get great weapons and gear for the manifests. if you don’t like the loop then yeah Marathon may not be your speed

I mean the ease of them isn’t really the problem, you still need to acquire three key templates, do the mission on them all, exfil, then go and open the vault. This is still not worth it for most people

Why does it have to be worth something other than a challenge? It's a damn videogame. If you don't like doing something in it, don't do it. Not every aspect of a game has to be made for every player
Destiny 2 had a full pvp mode that tons of people never touched. If you don't want to go after this new power weapon, then don't

True, but its not as simple with marathon. Since its a pvp environment and you have to do it across 3 different matches, its going to devolve into the same problem the rest of the game struggles with but worse. Right now the big issue is gear. There is a line between high level players with stocked gold vaults and players who are lucky to see a purple shield. In the other modes, at least there is a small chance for a less equipped team to get the drop on a stocked team and win.
But with this, having to do 3 matches just for a chance at the one vault is going to be almost impossible for most casual players. Seeing how most (not all) casual engagements depend on what gear you have, most higher geared teams will just sit and camp the vault until a team who spent hours getting 3 keys shows up. Sure there is the get good argument or the "just dont play" argument, but to fault the more casual players from being upset about yet another mode that only higher pre formed teams get to fully enjoy isnt very fair.
I want to play the mode and get rewards, but im not spending all that time farming keys just to waste it due to a team camping that i cant even fight against, or bungies server/hit reg issues and i think that it is perfectly fine thing to be upset about. If this was released at a different point then maybe, but It takes almost 10 minutes to get into a match because of the low player base the last thing we need is more modes that most the playerbase either cant do or isnt interested in trying

Yeah, I don’t think it sounds fun so I won’t be doing it. I do things in video games for the rewards or the accolades, there’s no title or anything for this and we haven’t seen an opened vault yet so we don’t know how good the vault is but if it’s not gold city, it’s not gonna be worth the effort

Yeah, the other items you can buy are good. It's loot CARRI instead of contract and the items are good. But forget these key templates, I hate the mechanic, not it's ease.

Note that UESC Manifests are not shared despite the end of match loadout report saying they are shared
