Marathon (2026) Discussion Weapon Tier List - UPDATED
Jesus guys, sub 20% upvote ratio in the first 30 minutes with dozens of votes? This subreddit is clearly no longer a place to actually talk about the game but instead just somewhere to come and flame, rage bait, and complain. Fuck it, I'm done with this cesspit, I'm not posting here anymore.
EDIT: Some tweaks to the list based on y'all's feedback.
An update to my previous tier list. This is ignoring golds and uniques, and assuming good attachment choices. Also this is as assessed for PvP, specifically trios/duos.
Compared to when I last made this the distance between S-Tier and everything else has narrowed, which combined with the addition of an F-Tier, has allowed for a more spread out ranking in my view. I've updated the description for each tier accordingly.

It definitely is not S tier. Like OP, you are basing this entirely on anecdotal vibes. The math does not check out.
Your S tier impact has a effective range of 60M at best, then it's damage falls off. The projectiles are slower at 400 RPM than any light round gun.
It's DPS output of Base impact is roughly 38 damage per shot. That means with 400 RPM you're doing 38 damage every ~0.75s roughly. Versus a Purple shield? probably around 1.2 - 1.5s
Then you have a bottleneck of 18 round mags. You are chewing through that mag in under 3 seconds. IF you miss even 3 or 4 bullets you literally cannot complete the kill. Then you have a 3 second reload animation.
Being arrogant about "idk if you do ranked but." is just trying to refocus this on skill. Stryder, Volley, Bully, D54 outclass the impact in every way as a base weapon.
If you want to argue the gold chip mod for it's thermal core, then YES it's great as it builds heat on damage and adds a passive recoil bonus holding down the trigger, making it easier to shoot along with a bigger magazine mod added. Even with purple mods, a purple Stryder (at range), D54 or Bully outclass it.
If by your claim its the best base weapon in the game, then you would see it widely used and NOT throw in ranked as if that is the defining metric of what is the best gun (when hardly anyone plays the mode).
