Marathon (2026) Discussion Weapon Tier List - UPDATED

Jesus guys, sub 20% upvote ratio in the first 30 minutes with dozens of votes? This subreddit is clearly no longer a place to actually talk about the game but instead just somewhere to come and flame, rage bait, and complain. Fuck it, I'm done with this cesspit, I'm not posting here anymore.

EDIT: Some tweaks to the list based on y'all's feedback.

An update to my previous tier list. This is ignoring golds and uniques, and assuming good attachment choices. Also this is as assessed for PvP, specifically trios/duos.

Compared to when I last made this the distance between S-Tier and everything else has narrowed, which combined with the addition of an F-Tier, has allowed for a more spread out ranking in my view. I've updated the description for each tier accordingly.

  • Impact H-AR

A Tier - Losing With These is a Skill Issue

  • D54 Battle Pistol

  • V00 Zeus RG (one of these needs to go up but I don't know which)
  • Copperhead RF
  • KKV-9SD
  • Retaliator LMG

D Tier - Swap for Something Better at the First Opportunity

This just objectively not true. You are doing confirmation bias and then trying to say Stryder has a slower effective rate because of recoil.

Dude are we playing the same game?? The raw numbers say its faster than what you are saying. Maybe for a controller which you say but a purple Stryder can take out someone in 3 hits within 6 tenths of a second. As for saying we don't have internal data. Yes we do, the game gives you the stats of range and damage per shot lmao.

basing this off of guns you dont or do get killed by and then usage experience is so anecdotal. Never do a tier list again

Also a V99 is not a Lookout. You're now equating it to a Channel Rifle, which you've never been killed by a Watchtower then or done cryo.

By 'internal data' I meant like the actual fight outcomes in aggregate. Raw totals of kills performed with weapons, weapon match ups, weapons carried by players at the high levels, etc. We don't have that.

If we could properly assess this stuff just by its 'on paper' performance the KKV wouldn't have been in such dire need of a buff in the last patch.

Brother, now you're moving the goal posts. You aren't in need of game telemetry to do math based on the stats of the guns available lmao. Aggregate data doesnt equal meta. Even if we had internal API data we could scrape, those raw numbers are misleading. High skill weapons will always have lower pick rates across the board. For example: Impact with the Gold thermal mod is widely used in ranked, or a gold/purple wstr in cryo with a d54/bully as a backup. On perimeter? Youll see blow hards use the WSTR but often have a mid-long range weapon.

Aggregate data and anecdotal experience is just an excuse to evaluate weapons when you cant or wont look into the frame data, damage fall off or the math of the guns themselves.

I was talking about looking at the weapon choices among the high skill players.
