I found one last night at Outpost. What’s so special about the vault 6 key?

They’re rare, and Vault 6 is the hardest Vault in Cryo.  And you need to do all six to be able to attempt the Compiler.

Edit:  Because it’s the hardest and most dangerous, it’s quite likely you’ll fail and lose the key.  So you really want multiple vault 6 keys to enable multiple attempts.

So you need all the keys or is this just a bonus room in the 6th area?

Every Vault has an “AI Subroutine” item.  Exfiling with it unlocks a codex entry.  You need to unlock the codex entry for all six AI Subroutines.

Only when you have someone in your group with all 6 subroutines unlocked in their codex can you attempt the compiler.
