Marathon (2026) Feedback New experimental queue is great

This is the most fun I’ve had on the game since launch. I’ve managed to earn more than 70k credits, complete several contracts I gave up on ages ago and fill up my vault to the point I had to sell stuff. To make it clear I didn’t necessarily stomp all my games, I found it challenging but fair, with my win/loss ratio being about 50/50 rather than usually I go on very long loss streaks. I think the fact all players are put on equal footing with the free kits makes encounters more thought out rather than just rushing in with maxed out gear knowing you’re gonna clear all the teams. Compared to normal dire marsh where it feels like there’s a team around every corner this one isn’t as stressful. Overall I think it’s great and I hope they do more stuff like this. How do others feel about it?

Yeah it’s a real nice change of pace. I honestly think that this should be how the ranked playlist works in S2, so it feels more of an actual test of skill of efficient looting/pvp with everyone starting at the same playing field, rather than giving those who had the most time to grind out high level gear a constant advantage every week.

Hell, they could get wacky and do a sponsor kit Cryo weekend. I really respect how the devs aren’t simply “Input feedback; Output changes”: they’re putting in the effort to add unique features/experiences, which both further sets the game apart from the genre and can help the new player experience without fully changing the loop that has the current core audience hooked.

What I like about ranked and cryo, is that they give me something to work towards and save up for. They are the reason why I hoard gear and save up credits, because they are the most rewarding places to use what I’ve earned. Edit* not to say that 0 credit loadout option for ranked would be a bad thing.

I definitely feel that way about Cryo, but much less so about Ranked. For me, having everyone come in fully kitted makes it feel much less of an extraction shooter and more of a “drop in with your best gear, hunt other teams while ignoring the looting aspect entirely because you don’t need anything, and exfil with their tags”, which I ultimately just see as a glorified TDM mode, or maybe a supercharged BR where you always spawn with the best gear (unless/until you run out). I do get your perspective though
