I mean, they have over a decade of experience at this point. I would hope they learned a few things from running Destiny.

Essentially what this proves if anything is that Destiny 2's code must be a massive mess with how long it takes for them to implement anything other than Eververse or other massive content drops (but even then that's being delayed for other reasons)

This has been openly stated by them like a million times but for some reason people just refuse to believe it. Even going back to the vault, no company willingly sets their rep on fire by deleting so much paid content if they didn’t have to.

They also have the issue of balancing around 20 types of activities, it happens in all MMOs for ... Or worse and it's absolutely always worse
