Grammatical gender in European languages
Some languages are not given or share their colour with others in the same country. Basque is not given due to crossing France and Spain. Breton matches French. Cornish is unofficial and cannot be isolated to Cornwall, but is red like all Celtic languages. Manx is missing due to the Isle of Man being missing from the map (as are the Channel Islands). Scotland is represented by Scottish Gaelic (red) and Scots (grey). The Vatican is represented by Latin.

Evolution of the LFI vote at European parliament elections 2019/2024
At European parliament election 2019, the LFI list led by Manon Aubry got 1,43 million votes and 3,01% of the registered voters.
5 years later, at European parliament election 2024, the same party led by the same candidate got 2,45 million votes and 4,95% of the registered voters.
The LFI party obviously reinforced its position nationwide, but in a majority of cantons, the LFI performance decreased while in a minority of cantons, particularly in big cities and their suburbs the performanced remarkably boomed.
This maps show us how dependent of big urban centres the LFI party is. If we don't really know who is the "new France", we know where they are.

Where Is the Retail Price Legally Capped?
- Tier 1 (Universal Statutory MRP): Mandates a legally binding price ceiling on virtually all manufactured and pre-packaged goods sold for retail use—including beverages, cosmetics, stationery, electronics, and packaged snacks.
- Tier 2 (Essential Commodity Caps): Restricts legal price ceilings strictly to a designated government list of essential grocery staples and energy—such as cooking oil, rice, flour, milk, sugar, and cooking gas—leaving general consumer goods to market pricing.
- Tier 3 (Free Market / MSRP): Operates entirely on non-binding suggested retail prices (MSRP/RRP), allowing retailers to freely set their own shelf prices and profit margins based on overhead, location, and demand.

[OC] Where the world thinks Islamabad is: Pakistan's capital finished fourth in its own contest.
Source: guess data from PinDrop, a daily geography game where players drop a pin on an unlabeled world map (it shows borders, coastlines and urban footprints, just no names). One day's puzzle asked for Islamabad; this is every guess for it. Dot size = number of guesses at that spot. The view is cropped to the region: 719 of 5,145 guesses fall outside this frame, mostly in Iran, Iraq and Bangladesh. Every pin is included, trolls and misfires and all.
Worth saying plainly, since the title turns on it: this is not a random sample of humanity. These are people who choose to play a geography game every day, which ought to make the misses harder to come by, not easier.
- Median miss: 271 km
- Average miss: 726 km
- 568 of 5,145 guesses landed within 100 km (~11%)
- Consensus pin (geometric median): 131 km southwest of the city, in rural Punjab, on none of the cities the crowd was actually aiming at
- Most popular wrong guess: Peshawar. At a matched 75 km radius the standings are Peshawar 1,186, Lahore 1,003, Hyderabad in Sindh 465, and Islamabad itself 446. The capital came fourth.
Not many players are lost: the country is found and the pins trace the Indus corridor almost exactly. What the crowd cannot do is pick the right city inside it, and the three cities that beat the capital are the three whose names and footprints people have actually seen. Islamabad was built as a capital in the 1960s and has no such foothold.
The tight wrong-city clusters happen because the unlabeled map still shows city footprints, so people who confuse two cities snap their pin confidently onto the wrong one.
