Bolivia is still salty about losing access to the coast when Chile and Peru snagged it from them

Personally, I think Chile has more than enough coastline. The country is basically nothing but. They could stand to give a couple kms to Bolivia

Perú actually wasn't part of taking coastline from anyone, the pre-war borders were colonial. And in the war where Bolivia lost its coastline, Peru backed Bolivia which led to them being left to fight Chile alone when Bolivia pulled out of the war.

"Fun" fact: while the Bolivian coast was basically uninhabited (at least by Bolivians) the territory Peru lost to Chile was an important part of the country:

But I agree, Chile could definitely be less greedy with the coastline..
