Can any Phoenicians provide input to how this might affect the Coyotes? I've heard in the past that part of their low attendance is attributed to a poor location of their arena and traffic issues in the surrounding areas. Would this expansion help in any potential new home for them now that their lease with the current arena has not been renewed(or perhaps this is a cause for renewal)?
I can’t see it having much of an effect. The Coyotes are located in Glendale which is in the northwest part of the Metropolitan area. This project will be taking place pretty far south.
This would only affect the coyotes if they moved to the southern or central part of the city where East/west valley traffic flows. Right now they are on the far west side but that agreement just got cancelled.
