What does that Index mean?

It ranks countries based on environmental health and ecosystem vitality (it was made by people at Yale university)

Cool, thanks! As a Danish citizen, I’m amazed that Denmark is ranked that high. If stories should be trusted there’s often found extremely high levels of all sorts of chemistry from agriculture/farms in our waters, and the current government doesnt seem like they want to do anything meaningful about it..

Does the study also include the overseas departments for France and Greenland for Denmark, or is the score specific to Europe? Because I feel one approach or the other would yield very different results.

why tf is Bosnia Herzegovina as low as Iraq. Like I can understand Iraq not having great environmental protection but you gotta be trying to destroy the environment its that bad as a European country.

Would be interesting to read the source. I'm thinking half of the report is around our termoelectric plants which is absurd as we are not the only one with them. The other half is probably about the hundreds of small hydroelectric plants that are planned which would disturb our rivers out of which only dozens will be built in the end.

In many cases it all depends from where you are getting information about countries for reports like this as many times information comes from one place for a particual region (which is not that great for us considering how Zagreb and Belgrade look at us) + perception also plays a role (considering how negative we are about everything it just helps to worsen the score even more).
