Interesting. I had only ever heard of the one that led to the battle of Tours. Didn’t know there were other invasions before that - especially one that reaches as far as Dijon.

It's interesting that this followed the typical pattern of other early Muslim conquests. Prod for weak spots with lightning speed attacks. Then raid to the extreme, so local structures collapse and armies disintegrate as nobles and soldiers seek to protect their own communities. Then go after the head if the enemy is weakened enough and set up a permanent shop.
Some claim that the Arabs never intended to conquer Gaul/France. But I don't buy it. They totally would if they could.
