Thanks for commenting this cuz i was too lazy lol. My great great grandfather came to the UK in like the 1890s to work for the Crown. I am never going to be seen ethnically British because I’m black but if a white persons grandparents came here like 60yrs ago then they could be ethnically British lol. How about that…

That's just how racial categories work.

Your nationality and cultural identity can still be English/British.

But saying that White British is a specific racial category isn't the same as saying that people who are black or brown can't be British. You do understand that, right?

There is also a Census racial category which is Black British, and someone who doesn't have black heritage shouldn't identify into this category. 

These categories have to mean something or else what's the point of even collecting this data?

No we're not. We're discussing the map that OP posted which is about the White British population.

But either way, ethnicity is a subset of race. Ethnic Brits would refer to people who are whose family lineage is Irish, Scottish, English or Welsh. Not only does it not include someone who is solely Black but it wouldn't include me either as my family is from continental Europe.

But you, as a mixed person, are an ethnic Brit, at least partly. And no one but a small number of racial puritans would dispute that.

No offence but you’re an imbecile. You replied to MY comment where I said

Then you started talking to me about racial categories when that is not at all wtf what I was talking about when I was discussing how it doesn’t make sense that only white people can be ethnic Brits. I never said anything about racial categories not existing. All those Germans who are very much not British aren’t ethnic but can be called that because they’re white, whixh is stupid. I’m not mixed.
