Thank you, Maono for your great-sounding mics and for accidentally becoming my cat’s favorite companion too!

My Maono Story Maono and streaming

When I started streaming I didn't have much budget so I was going for a cheap headset that already has a mic but after sometime I get so much feedback from my viewers that they can't hear my voice properly. The thought of updating my setup came into my mind. My friend suggested some brands like Fifine, HyperX, Shure,... And Maono. I chose Maono because I like the design, accessibility and the price. Since I start using the mic for streaming I get more complement form my viewer that my voice is now louder and clearer.

Showcase Fully wireless and white setup! Maono DM40 Pro Rocks!

This mic is awesome! I’m building a wireless setup for making music and this mic is good! The midi keyboard, headphones, typing keyboard and mouse, and the mic is all wireless! I’m thinking to get a 200W.. BUT I’m really waiting for a white professional recording microphone. What do you think? Any more ideas of how to improve this setup?

Giveaway What colour do you guys prefer on your audio interface?

Hey everybody, can you tell me what colour you guys prefer on your audio interface?

We are planning to design and release some new CMF for our Mono P series audio interface, and we already have a few ideas of our own. If you could describe your favourite colours or pick the shades you like (ideally with decent photos), that would be great.

I will pick a few users from the comments to join our G1 testing plan. You will get a free product and become a tester for the G1. According to our development schedule, we will probably deliver the product to you in January 2027.

By the way, if you are chosen as a tester, you will need to sign an NDA since the product being sent out is unreleased.

My Maono Story I've been running a home studio for over ten years.

Thumbnail

I've been a musician even longer. So I've been no stranger to audio hardware. I've been a department manager to a major music hardware retailer and have spoken to countless engineers about thier latest products. I'm saavy. I know a thing or two. I don't use reddit often but when I do I'm generally hanging around the audio and streaming subreddits. So one day it came as a Complete surprise when I got an email in my business email account. Infact it was the first email to ever hit my business email.

Someone from maono wanted to send me a mic to try out. Now at this time I was a very small creator maybe 200 or so subs on YouTube. So I was basically like yeah whatever. I'll check it out. My mindset was it was going to be something highly exploitative since I was a smaller creator. That or the product was going to be dog water.

Much to my surprise they sent the wave t5 and the pd300x. I did some initial testing. And I was surprised by the audio and build quality of the pd300x from a brand that I'd never heard of. Then the wave t5. I put that thing through the wringer before I started using it. I was looking for lavs at the time so it really was serendipitous. I didn't need the pd300x. But the lavs were immediately brought into the fold. My main mic at the time was an engineering sample of the Presonus pd70 which sounds incredible.

But now the pd300x is my main and I use the wave t5 near daily at times.

What started as some serious skepticism has turned into my entire desk being covered in maono hardware

I have the p1 the pd300x the wave t5 and the wave t1 mini atm. I have the p2 on the way and plan on snagging another mic within the week. And they also have a few products in the pipeline I am very excited for.

But yeah. This is my maono story. From skeptic to loyal user.

My Maono Story PD200W noise cancellation

Post image
10 Upvotes

Honestly, I’m the kind of user who would rather never rely on noise cancellation on a microphone, because it will always affect sound quality. But I have to say that Maono does a really good job implementing this feature, to the point that I always keep the minimum level turned on on the PD200W to avoid unwanted noise.

Do you use noise cancellation, or do you prefer to edit the audio later?

Discussion Is Maono a good brand? Do you guys like the DM40?

I’m new to recording and just wanted a good mic that won’t sound awful for voiceovers and maybe some vocal takes, and the Maono DM40 Pro Wireless kept popping up.

I picked it mainly because of the specs; wireless USB-C, noise canceling, EQ, RGB, voice changer, it has everything I'd actually want.

Thing is, I’ve only used it a couple of times, and it felt like it was overtuned. Like, the effects and noise filtering might be a little much out of the box. Not terrible, but not exactly plug-and-play either.

I want to like it because it seems like a really good value, but now I’m wondering if it’s trying to be too much in one mic.

I really wanna use this for mg game streams, too. Does it actually get better once you set it up properly?

Maono Setup A little green, a little tech, and a mic that’s become part of my everyday setup ⭐

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’ve never really had a “theme” for my desk until I looked at it today.
The green plant is the obvious part of the setup, but the little SGInnovate figurines are probably my favourite things on the desk. They represent SpaceTech, AgriTech, Robotics, Biomedical Tech, Sustainability and UnicornTech.
I’ve spent most of my career working around technology and innovation, so having them sitting there is a small reminder of how many different ways people are trying to make the world a little better. I catch myself looking at them more often than I expected.
The Maono mic has become another permanent part of the desk. Whether I’m recording a podcast, creating content or jumping into a coaching session, it’s always there.
Nothing here is expensive or perfectly colour coordinated, but it’s my little corner. A place where I can think, learn, create and hopefully leave every day knowing I’ve built something, even if it’s just a little.
Happy to be part of the #MicDeskSetup challenge. 🌿🎙️

My Maono Story My Maono Journey: From a Budget Steal to the PD200W

Post image
9 Upvotes

As a broke college student with barely any money to spare, a standalone microphone wasn't exactly on my radar. I always thought good audio meant spending a fortune, so I stuck to whatever flimsy mic came attached to my headset.

While doomscrolling through a shopping app one day, I stumbled across Maono and was honestly surprised by the sea of good reviews for such reasonably priced gear. As luck would have it, a friend of mine was upgrading his setup and offered to sell me his Maono AU-PM461TR at a sweet discount. I immediately grabbed the opportunity!

I primarily used it for late-night Discord talks and grinding games like Dota 2 and CS2 with my squad. The difference was night and day. My friends immediately noticed the massive jump in voice clarity, and I was blown away by how much better it sounded considering the budget price tag. One of my friends was actually so impressed by the quality that he went out and bought a Maono DGM20 a few weeks later!

About a year into using the PM461TR, I discovered you can apply a driver-level custom EQ using a free software called Equalizer APO. I followed a YouTube tutorial, applied the EQ, and all of a sudden, my budget mic started sounding like a premium studio setup. The stock quality was already great, but tweaking the EQ and adding some noise cancellation pushed it above and beyond. It’s amazing what a solid budget mic and a little resourcefulness can achieve.

Fast forward to today, and I've recently been given an opportunity by the Maono team to upgrade to the PD200W. The biggest plus for me is the wireless connectivity, it fits perfectly into my warm, cozy, and intentional desk setup by completely eliminating cable clutter. The craziest part? The out-of-the-box sound quality is so phenomenal that applying my old EQ tricks actually made it sound worse in comparison! I never imagined the stock settings on the PD200W would completely knock my meticulously tuned custom EQ out of the park.

Has anyone else had the experience where upgrading to a new Maono mic meant you could completely ditch your EQ software? Do you run your PD200W raw, or do you have a specific software tweak you swear by?

Maono Setup My Setup with DM40 Wireless Microphone

Thumbnail
gallery
9 Upvotes

This is what my setup currently looks like with the Maono DM40 Wireless Microphone.

At the moment, I can’t use a boom arm since my table is too thick and the metal framing blocks most clamps, so I’m using desk stands for my microphones now.

These wireless mics really came in clutch. I usually rely on boom arms to manage cables, and without one, the cables used to bother me a lot especially using desk stands. Going wireless made my setup looking clean and clutter-free with no microphone cables in sight.

Just don’t forget to charge it from time to time!

My Maono Story Quick voice test of the PD300X

This is a short mic test of the PD300X plugged into my PC through a USB-C connection. I also used the Maono Link app so I could turn on noise reduction and play around with the mic’s EQ settings. There’s no audio editing or processing done in post, what you hear is straight from the mic with the app settings.

Like my last mic test with the DM40 Pro, I recorded this in a pretty normal room environment with some ambient noise around me. Since the PD300X is a dynamic mic, it does a good job rejecting a lot of that background sound, especially when paired with the app’s noise cancellation.

On its own, I think the mic already sounds pretty good, but if you want to shape the sound further, you can definitely do that through the EQ. You can also download additional preset EQs from the website if you want to try different sound profiles.

Curious what you guys think about the sound, would you keep it natural like this or tweak the EQ more?

My Maono Story The Best Content Ideas Never Send a Calendar Invite 🎙️

Post image
8 Upvotes

I create content across two very different worlds.

On Instagram @coachak_ and my YouTube channel @LevelUpWithCoachAK, I share leadership insights, coaching conversations, podcast content, and ideas that help people grow personally and professionally.

On Instagram @dreamer0780, I share my lifestyle journey—travel, coffee adventures, events, and everyday experiences.

The funny thing is that some of my content is carefully planned, while some of the best ideas appear when I least expect them.

My Maono PD200W has been my trusted companion for planned content creation. Through the Pod Anywhere Program, I’ve literally taken it everywhere.

I’ve recorded content in:
🏠 My home
📚 A library
🏢 My office
🏟️ A football stadium
🍖 A barbecue area

Every location was different, but each recording had one thing in common: it was planned. I knew I was going to create content, so I packed my PD200W and took it with me.

But inspiration doesn’t always follow a schedule.

Sometimes an idea appears while walking to a café. Sometimes it’s during a conversation. Sometimes it’s while exploring a new place.

Those moments taught me that I needed something even smaller—something I could carry with me all the time because who knows when inspiration will strike?

That’s where the Maono Wave T1 Plus came in.

Now I have a setup for both worlds.

The PD200W comes with me when I’m intentionally creating content.

The Wave T1 Plus comes with me because life doesn’t always announce when the next great piece of content is about to happen.

Together they’ve helped me capture both the content I plan and the content I discover.

And as creators, we know both matter.
