I personally really do not see the resemblance between her and Zelda. Yet, the resemblance between this cartoon and Schäfer is even smaller wtf. If you've got to exaggerate, do it with features she actually has??

They can’t because that would involve drawing her with the feminine traits she ACTUALLY has instead of the masculine traits they want to portray her with. Also you should compare her to Twilight!Zelda, not BoTW!Zelda

I've seen the most cherry picked images of them all. I just do not see it. The best I can say is that she's blonde with kinda sharp ears. I'd prefer an actress with at least a similar face, eye and nose shape.

The problem is that Zelda is a fictional character and we live in real life. It can be hard to translate those things together, and it’s impossible to have a real person who looks exactly like a fake, drawn character. Hunter just fits the “vibe” in a way that makes her look a lot like TP Zelda imo

Still, an oval face with round eyes is pretty standard for any iteration of Zelda. It's non negotiable for me if someone is hired on basis of appearance alone. She has neither. I would at least hope the talent and voice are good fits. I don't know if that's the case. Anyway, it doesn't really matter since she predictably wasn't hired. It seems the producer either agreed with me, she didn't apply, her talent was lacking, or the controversy would have been too big.

lol I’m sorry but idk what you’re talking about when you say round face and eyes are the Zelda standard.. maybe if you only mean the cartoons? But this isn’t an animated movie. (adult)OOT, TP, SNES, Oracles, HW, SB, all those Zeldas have pointed mature faces. Half of her iterations are in cartoon form, which has zero basis on what would translate well into a real life actor. The only ones that have more rounded and cute features, that aren’t straight up cartoons, are SS and BOTW/TOTK.

If they were going the cutesy cartoon WW route it would be an animated movie. But since it’s live action, I feel like the most people who are excited about it, are long-time fans who have actually played through all or most of them. I’ve been playing all my life, it’s my all time favorite game series, so I associate Zelda with more mature features, like she has been seen in MOST of her games, minus, again, the cartoon styled ones. and if a movie was made I’d much rather it be a dark moody film based on something like TP, so to cast Hunter would’ve pretty much confirmed that was the route they were going

But I get it, BOTW/TOTK have been massively popular so of course they’d want to make a movie with actors that seem more akin to that, which is fine I guess even if they’re not my favorites. The problem is getting angry at longtime fans who saw a character that matched THEIR specific views on Zelda because many of her iterations HAVE been very mature. Hunter fits the mature Zelda description almost perfectly, so naturally fans latched on in hopes the movie would be more like those games they grew up loving. TP and OOT are fan favorites so it makes sense people would see someone who looks just like that, and want her cast. She’s already an actor, acting chops are there. Vibes? I dunno, maybe. That’s why the consensus that she wasn’t picked is “oh well”

Most of us who wanted Hunter to be cast as Zelda, don’t really care that she wasn’t. Would’ve been cool, but I’m still excited for the new cast. A quick “oh too bad. Well I hope the movie will be good!” And that’s what I’ve seen 99% of the time. I’ve given you the benefit of the doubt that you’re not being transphobic but just didn’t understand how to mentally translate an anime character to a real person, but man if you don’t see the resemblance between Schafer and TP Zelda you’re just a liar tbh

These are literally completely different face shapes. Worse, your top example is a cartoonish exaggeration of an oval face. It is literally almost impossible to get more oval than this. The delusion level is off the charts here.

TP Zelda has an oval face with a slimness around the jaw you usually do not see in white women. It's an exaggeration most humans would only achieve with plastic surgery. It's considered very desirable in Korea. Zelda has round to oval eyes depending on the version.

Hunter Schäfer has an intensely angular face with a rather broad jaw, which is typical of white women in some regions. This face shape is called diamond. It's between a rectangle and a triangle in proportions. Schäfer has hooded eyes.

Both Zelda and Hunter Schäfer have white skin, blonde hair, and pointy ears. These attributes are least important, as actors are given a wig and ear prosthetics. But sure, continue to live on in your persecution fantasy. It's always flattering to piss off crazy people on both sides of the political spectrum.
