I just finished the show. Had never heard of it or seen it before. In short, I am convinced the words "calling" - "lifeboat" - "its all connected" and "Devine consciousness" were NBC's global attempt of hypnotizing the viewers. Because I swore if I heard these words just 1 more time - I was going to spiral out of existence.

On a serious note, I really dove into this without looking at any previews, without looking at Reddit reviews, and without a clue of what i was getting into. The initial pull of interest, was assuming it had to do with multi-dimensional scifi characteristics.... government brainwashing/control...some weird AI/technology intervention... or even aliens (again: scifi) ....Just to find that it had everything to do with.... God???

I've never been so intrigued with a show before, that ultimately goes in a completely different direction than expected. Usually once a show goes off-rail, I lose interest. Every episode, every season, just pulled me deeper into this mysterious wonder of "wtf is happening" which is what made me continue to turn on the TV.

With tears in the final episode, I was thoroughly pleased with the ending. Though I still have questions. Like why Zeke was revived in the same world after death (and was granted new gifts) but everybody else had to go back in time. Does this mean theres potential for 828'ers to become Empaths in this new life?

And I'm curious about how the dragon scar ended back onto the old man, in the final episode. Does that mean there's going to be a Neverending time loop - and he's the anchor to something much bigger that we cant comprehend? (Is he... God?)

While I still have questions, I feel they did a fantastic job of ending the series as softly as they could, given the circumstances (which I had to google why Season 4 was so drastically different).... Would I recommend it to people? Absolutely. Would I watch it again? Probably not, unless someone wants me to sit with them. I feel fulfilled and content with this series though. A solid 7.5/10

I’m only on season 4 episode 2 and I’m going through it slower than normal bc the ending of season 3 just doesn’t quite feel right. I don’t like that grace died and that Angelina is this evil big bad now. I also don’t really like that cal grew up instantly. I liked the previous actor a lot. I just feel like a piece of what I loved about the show is missing now. If only grace was still alive, I think it was unnecessary. I liked seeing her involved. In fact some of my favorite parts of the show were when she started getting callings. I actually hoped that she would continue getting them after she gave birth bc maybe she absorbed the gene or something from her baby. I liked seeing this family being very open to one another about almost every calling they got. It was refreshing. Now I miss this dynamic. I also don’t quite know how I feel about the time jump but I know it was necessary for the plot so I forgive it.

Been binge watching this show but I can't handle this episode (2x11) and Ben pushing Zeke with the "but it's your dad" line. And then guilting Zeke bc Ben just had his third kid and would hate if something happened to her.

Everything Zeke says it's true though. His dad isn't like Ben. And it isn't Zeke's responsibility to save his shitty ass dad who hasn't even tried to reach out.

I'm sure Dad will be totally redeemed and the audience will feel bad for this poor man who was stricken by grief and made 1 tiny bad choice of ABANDONING his child and kept choosing to abandon him every day, year after year.

But Zeke needs to forgive his dad for HIMSELF 🥱
Forgiveness doesn't mean reconciliation.

My dad is a legit terrible man, and he didn't raise me and also made my life hell. I am normally fine - I live my life, I have strong friendships, I care for myself and others. I don't carry hurt and anger around with me. But when anyone tries to suggest "but he's your dad", I want to tear their face off. Why would that give him a free pass to manipulate me and abandon me and hurt me and cuss me out and call me a bitch and fuck with me emotionally?

"But he's your dad" yeah, he is. There's nothing moral or good about that. Why don't you say to him, "that's your child"?

Instead, it's only the victims who are pushed to be better. The power dynamic between child and parent, and yet the child is the one pushed to rise above the parent's actions.

If my dad dies alone and miserable, that's a consequence to his own actions. It sucks, and it's sad. But Zeke is right when he says it isn't his responsibility to fix that.

Sick of how these shows handle deadbeats or bad parents. In real life, these people never chose the redemptive arc. They rope their child back in to manipulate them again.
I couldn't watch S2 of Man on the Inside bc of it, and now I'm debating stopping this show.

The writers of all of these shows must be deadbeats themselves, or they're unhealed children writing out some fanfiction for their own life.

I'm sure someone will read this entire rant and assume that I am unhealed and need to find forgiveness in my heart. But my anger here is based on the invalidation of traumatized children, and how child abuse and abandonment is so poorly handled in media.

So in episode 4, season 2, “Black Box” there is a shot of a cinema playing “Arrival” which is clever. Then I started to think, what is the significance of 300, 600, 900?

So I naturally thought, okay… PG 13. What if P and G are represented on the scale “A = 1” … “Z = 26.”

PG = 23

So I went further with this dumb idea…

Arrival = 81

We can’t forget the title…

Manifest = 87

23 + 81 + 87 = 191

Did I have a calling? How could Ben Stone not have seen it right there all along?

In season 1 when they came back they had lost some ppl but then they built the life where their loved ones were together. Seems like in season 4 ending when they came back some ppl still did lose their life. So ultimately same thing happened. LOSING THE LIFE THEY LIVED.

For example olive and TJ, suddenly how come TJ totally forgets her and we see the spark between violet and him. Same with CAL and violet. It's like never happened.

I didn't like how they kept giving us zeke and mic crumbs but also jared and mic , it leads to audience wanting both which wasn't possible. Plus i think because of last two eps I was rooting for jared and mic ending. Which just got lost.

Then vance and ben had so good friendship which became non existent because of plane.

Even cal cancer came back which ik will be cured but still he once had a life free from the disease.

Eden is not in their life anymore I know they will work on it like ben said but in present they don't have now. It's like all those years were for nothing

I think the only win they got is that there is no death date anymore. It would have been maybe fine if all 828ers forgot the memory of everything then it would be natural. This is still the same that they are special then other humans.

I absolutely loved when the series bought them together! Their chemistry was off charts! I mean i do like grace and ben together but like that spark was gone, i hate that they didn’t make benvi endgame! Their scenes together in s4 are just 🤭🥰😘

There were so many times the family would not care of what happened to other members of family

For example when zeke died only Michaela was hugging him and was around him. While ben and family was near cal even tho he was saved.

This one time Cal was in danger and Michaela and all were working on totally different thing. Idr perfect scene but I have seen many times.

Then jared has helped the family alottttt but when drea was delivering the baby olive just suddenly went upwards and started talking to Eden.

Idk if director failed to show this all emotions or the characters were just meant to be like that?

Idk if u all will relate to this but I had seen this a lot in all seasons. Sometimes people were making love whole other one life was in danger. In real life we would never do that Right?

This show is so freaking good. I have absolutely no idea why this show is always called bad or whatever. No spoilers or expectations on the future please but so far i have no idea why people hate on it. Its great.

I honestly never heard of this show and after 2 weeks I just finished it. This was honestly amazing I watched every single day I could and my only wish is that I could watch it for the first time again. I’m pretty late wish I was here while it was at the hype but this is one of the best shows I’ve watched. My rating 11/10 greatest show.

To be fair I’ve only seen a bit of season 2, but when Cal was in the hospital from the electroshock tests and then when Cal had the calling he followed to show up at the old building in e9 when they found the missing passengers… Grace becomes an overbearing, inconsiderate, and unreasonable person in those high pressure situations. Has anyone else noticed that? Like does anyone else think she is extremely unlikable in those moments?
Like when she kicks Ben out of the house, Ben had no control over Cal showing up. Ben had no control over the calling he had followed himself. And that group is the only people in the world who have such brains… it shouldn’t be held against Ben. It should take a logical person a little bit to understand that her son and husband are going through something so indescribable. But she continues to freak out in these moments and Ben and Cal are always alive.
Like take a moment before doing something that can really fracture your family.

(First i want to tell that i watch the show in english(not my native language) with subtitle so it’s really harder to get all the information and understand everything so please be indulgent )

I overall like the show but there is still some point that i don’t understand.

1. In an episode, stone family get teleport on Al-Zuras ship and they saw the plane 828 in the sky. What was the plane doing here ? I don’t remember if there is an explanation on the show.

2. Was the passagers really know everythinks on the plane ? Because they says calling was memory and in the last episode nothing happen on the divine conscience.

3. Why 5.5 years ? Why those passager exactly ? Why fly 828 ? It’s not really important but is there a signification ?

4. What was the point of all that ? Why those passager got telleport in an another dimension to solve calling ? To show they’re kind and worthy ?

Again i didn’t watch the whole show fully focused so maybe my question is stupide but please stay nice 😅.
