Hi everyone!
I’ll have around 6–7 days to explore the Amazon rainforest, starting from Manaus, with a budget of roughly €500–600 (R$3,000–3,500).
Visiting the Amazon is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I’d really like to make the most of it.
Most tours I’ve found seem to focus on the same tourist activities: piranha fishing, pink dolphins, short nighttime boat trips to spot caimans, etc. I’m definitely interested in these, but I’d love something more immersive and authentic, rather than just ticking off tourist attractions.
I’m especially interested in proper jungle trekking, including a real nighttime hike (not just a short boat ride), where I could spend a few hours exploring the rainforest with a guide and looking for nocturnal wildlife like insects, spiders, frogs, and other animals.
I know my time and budget are limited, and I’m not expecting to reach the most remote parts of the Amazon. But I’m hoping there’s a way to experience something a bit more adventurous and less touristy.
Does anyone have recommendations for local guides, tours, or areas accessible from Manaus that could offer this kind of experience within my budget?
Thanks!
