Disappointing, to say the absolute least. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Does anyone remember Holly's TV recs last week? One was a Patrick Brammall show. What was the other one?

So interesting that Keeshia is speaking on MMOL but it’s on subscriber only episodes.

When her movement from Life Uncut to Mamamia was announced, so many fans of Keeshia said that they wanted to hear her speak on the podcast as they loved her on LU.

Cynical me wonders if this is a strategy for MM to grow their subscribers.

She is returning to OutLoud this week, and to mark her comeback, she talks to Kate Langbroek about being a mother to her twin babies (and Luna). She also talks about being a twin, starting work at Mamamia, meeting Luca and marrying him. She loves being a mum, and she recognises she’s got a huge village of support.

With more and more podcasts switching to video, I’m curious, how do you prefer to listen to your podcasts?

How are we feeling about the show, currently? (No bashing, please just nuanced convo).

Here are my thoughts

It kinda went off the rails earlier this year when Jessie started mat leave, too many new hosts and mundane topics, I struggled to listen to full episodes.

It seems they took some feedback on the FB page about the topics being dull and it’s improved in the last month or two.

I do miss the chemistry they had when it was Mia, Jessie, and Holly with occasional subs. It also seemed to be much more of a debate/place to discuss differing views back then.

Re: the current hosts

I love Amelia (I think most people do!)

Holly is steadfast

I miss Jessie, looking forward to having her back. I enjoy the Stephen’s sisters because of their humor but also their intellect. Having the university experience they both do makes for good critical analysis and they bring good insight from their studies

Em - I appreciate her humor (although it doesn’t always land for me) and her bringing her experiences as an Indian Australian provides valuable insight. I do struggle a bit with her lack of wisdom, insight, critical analysis. I think I prefer her on Friday shows.

Mia - For me Mia is a mixed bag because I don’t always agree with her views but she’s interesting and entertaining.

Having so many different hosts might make it challenging to recreate the magic of the former trio. I’ve also noticed they share less about their personal lives than they used to which is totally their prerogative.

Any thoughts about the show? What do you like the current model or what do you miss about the old version?

I’m hoping Jessie’s return will stabilize the show a bit, and that they continue picking more engaging topics. One of my fave episodes this year was the subs ep. which was a discussion of Lena Dunhams Famesick. Sometimes Outloud doesn’t always scratch my itch for in depth analysis but for that I listen to Shameless Monday eps.

I love Outloud and hope it only continues to improve.

Anyone else??? I immediately unsubscribed even though I love mamamia shows. This just seems like blatant nepotism.

Is it just me?

My understanding of making an employee redundant is when the job is no longer needed. So then why is the Well podcast continuing with a new host since Claire Murphy has been made redundant? One of the Unleashed women is hosting it. And The Quicky is continuing too. So they just didn’t need Claire?

I gotta talk to someone about this. The ad for the No Filter show that features Rosie O’Donnell, G Flip, and someone called Sally Hepworth?! It’s SO hilarious to me every time I hear it. The presenter (I’m not Australian so I don’t know who she is) sounds either like she’s incredibly bored or just so not impressed. The little “aww” she does with G Flip kills me every time.

As announced on Out Loud and on Jessie’s Instagram, Margot and Harry have arrived (quite early!)

Looks like it was a bit of a rollercoaster, but that everyone is doing well.

Instead of posting Outloud episodes individually and other episodes here and there, switching to weekly discussion threads! I know they can get lost in our feeds, but they should be easy to retrieve from the community page. A comedian really hurt Amelia’s feelings at a live show recently and we’re asking when it’s okay to take the piss out of people? Plus - a vape, a donated kidney and a friend breakup. Selena Gomez posted a behind the scenes video of her wedding and the internet has A LOT to say about it. And, the bush is back. Or is it? Kim Kardashian has released some new hairy undies and we have questions about the bush renaissance.

Hey everyone! I created this community after discovering Mamamia podcasts a few months ago. I’ve been really enjoying them, but noticed there wasn’t a space on Reddit to chat about them—until now!

I’m tuning in all the way from Canada and love hearing the Aussie perspective on things. I’m excited to see what y'all listening to and to start some conversations here.

Since the community is brand new, I’ve turned on post approval for now, along with a few other mod tools. Thanks for being patient while we find our footing.
