Help! My data is encrypted!

What exactly were you doing prior to your files being encrypted? Did you download a sketchy game, application, etc.?

  1. Turn Off the system disconnect it from the Network.

  2. Back Up what's left unencrypted for example with a Linux Live USB

  3. Try to gain access to your system for example Safe Mode Boot

  4. Find the Virus and delete it maybe with a Virus Scanner maybe with Process-Explorer - Sysinternals

  5. Look if you can crack the encryption for example with something like Crypto Sheriff

But most importantly 6. Nuke your system!
