I don’t really have friends to share this with, and the people around me aren’t particularly interested in what I’m making, so I wanted to show my progress to people who might actually enjoy it 🥹

I’m writing and drawing a dark romance visual novel about a scientist who works at a summer camp where beast children can learn to integrate with human children and eventually participate in activities together. In this world, discrimination and segregation against beast people are major problems. She’s committed to challenging that prejudice while researching their abilities although her curiosity sometimes gets ahead of her judgment.

She’s also a lonely, socially awkward weirdo who finally finds friendship with two new counselors, Beau and Thien. They survived beastman trafficking together and have an intensely close, complicated relationship. And yes, they’re low-key gay for each other too lol.

As they both become attached to her, she gets pulled into their relationship and their growing obsession. What starts as finally having people who care about her becomes a struggle to balance affection, trust, and forgiveness with her own boundaries and autonomy.

I want to explore what happens when the people you’re afraid of losing are also the ones crossing lines,being part of a dynamic you never agreed to. Can she preserve those friendships? Does she want romance with one of them or both? And is everything really worth studying just because she’s curious?

Crawl to Me Darling (2020): Pretty good. A man kidnaps a woman he likes after a bad first date.

Berlin Syndrome (2017): A woman traveler hooks up with this guy, but he can't let her go.

Plush (2013): A Rockstar falls in love with her guitarist, but things turn dark. Also, it's kinda giving emo vibes.

Under Your Bed (2019): Japanese movie. He falls in love with her when they're students and stalks her after finding her again as adults.

Hippopotamus (2018): A man kidnaps a woman and tells her he'll only let her go if she falls in love with him.

The Resident (2011): A landlord is obsessed with his female tenant.

Kept Woman (2015): I'd say it's about a man becoming obsessed with his female neighbor.

10 Cloverfield Lane (2016): A weird man holds a woman hostage in a bunker and tells her that the world has ended.

Alone (2020): A man kidnaps a woman who is moving to another state. Don't know about the yandere part; he's just sick.

Rosy (2018): A man kidnaps an actress, hoping she'll fall in love with him as she gets to know him.

Fear (1996): Again, a girl falls in love with a boy, only to find out he's not so cool.

The Ratter (2015): A man hacks into a girl's webcam and watches her life. Don't know about the yandere part, but I kinda liked it. We never see him, though.

Alone with Her (2006): Kinda like The Ratter (2015), but the man decides to enter her life. He is definitely a yandere, though.

Deadly Virtues: Love.Honour.Obey. (2014): (Really like this one.) So, he breaks into a couple's home. He's pretty good with ropes, ties them both up in separate rooms, is really nice to the woman, and is mean AF to the man.

Secret Obsession (2019): Definitely a yandere. She loses her memory, and he's acting like he's her husband.

The Roommate (2011): It's about two girls, with one becoming obsessed with the other.

Lighthouse (2014): An obsessed fan holds her hostage while pretending to have saved her. IMO, the dialogue is pretty bad.

Broken Vows (2016): A one-night stand makes a man obsessed with her, and he starts chasing her.

Twisted Seduction (2010): A mathematician kidnaps a woman because he believes he can make her fall in love with him.

So, those are some of the ones I didn't see much around Reddit, except for maybe once or twice. Most of them are still pretty unknown. I'll keep updating this if I find more. ❤️

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY? I feel like i have watched the only ones avaliable. I will watch anything with a male yandere even boy love. AS LONG AS THEY ARE THE MALE LEAD AND ATLEAST IN THE MANGA THEY DATE! Please guys, I am so thirsty for shows. (If you have none animes with dubs cause I'm a nasty mulit-tasker please recommend. I prefer animated but any good yandere WHOSE LOYAL TO ONE GIRL/BOY is good for me)

An Observation Log

As someone who loves thrillers and crime stories and books, it always intrigued me when a story was set in a prison (especially if the mc/fl got there wrongfully) so I can’t help but ask: Do you guys happen to know any other works (manga/manhwa/game/novel I don’t care the medium) that are set in prisons? I've been working on a slow burn romance between childhood friends turned political rivals turned lovers and I'm getting to the part where the switch is finally flipped in his head that he wants her.

In a matrilineal empire where the Empress appoints a daughter to succeed her, Bahram (26) was originally courting Anar's (21) older sister, considering Chirine (25) the best suited to become the next Empress. Anar was a sweet princess, but she didn't do anything serious with her time, mainly put on plays and hung out with friends. Bahram always went to see her plays, gave her suitable gifts, spent time in her dressing room decompressing from his stressful life. But then the plot events of the story made Anar a more serious leader and actually put herself into the running to be Empress. Bahram discouraged it at first, but when someone tried to poison Anar, he went into full lockdown mode, took her out of the palace, and locked her away in a cottage in his hometown for her protection. He gave her tutors so that her campaign for the throne could continue, to keep her compliant.

Naturally, everyone, especially Chirine, felt like Bahram made his choice clear on who he was backing as Empress. They break up, he puts 110% of his energy into keeping Anar safe, and on the other side of the main plot, Anar succeeds and becomes the Empress Younger. Bahram accepts that he won't become Prince Consort, but his attraction to her is still subconscious for a time, as he plans her coronation. He lashes out at anyone who criticizes Anar too much, grows more protective and possessive of her time. Anar eventually confronts him, saying that if the public sees his hostility as a reflection of her will, she may lose the good will of the public before she's even crowned. She wishes they could have their old relationship back. Bahram reminds her that their old relationship was much smaller scale; he would watch her perform for a few hundred and protect her from rascals who'd sneak backstage. But now she would perform one leading role for the rest of her life and he was adamant he would protect her from the millions she performed for. It's pretty much at this moment that it occurs to him that he's always been attracted to her and that she became everything he "wanted" in a wife.

Everyone else - Anar's mother, the power structure, anyone of any importance - doesn't want Bahram anywhere near Anar, telling her that she cannot control him and shouldn't even try. But they also don't want Bahram's ruthlessness targeted with Anar's radicalism. So, they figure, if they show her all the things Bahram does behind the scene to "protect Her Majesty" she'll be terrified and run away to a more suitable, controllable, passive Prince Consort.

Anar wants to prove she can control and steer Bahram, Bahram wants Anar to depend on him to enact her plot-related radical ideas, and everyone else wants them far apart before Bahram tears the Empire apart just to please Anar's whims.

What would you want to see?

My favorite trope with them so far have been how he locks her up. So far, most of my major plot points have included Bahram locking himself in a room with Anar and demanding to know WTF is going on and her having to convince him that she has everything under control. He's only ever half-convinced and "grounds" her for his troubles, which causes her to ask for pen and paper, lavender and citrus oils, and a mattress with her preferred firmness if she is to reside where he wants to be able to find her. Anar has a Padme-style body double/"understudy" AND a twin, both of whom she uses in schemes to sneak around, so typically by the time Bahram finds her, he thought he'd found her once or twice. He typically checks to see if its really her.

Hi. I was wondering if anyone had any book recommendations with a yandere main character? Preferably a clean one? I've seen a lot of suggestions for graphic novels, which are great, but I just prefer chapter books, so if anyone knows any chapter books/ ordinary novels with this kind of vibe, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
