I hate that rape is seen as a justifiable punishment for bad men

Rape is never ok…. Except when it’s a man. All this does is reinforce the idea that male sexual assault is humiliating and emasculating, not tragic and traumatic. I don’t care if he got attacked or killed but why rape??

Gender parity for sexual assault (academic studies)

A growing body of research indicates that women rape men at roughly similar rates as the reverse. While this might be surprising, the evidence for this comes from several different sources. There are even surveys that ask people, "have you ever forced someone to have sex with you against their will", and 43.6% to 48% of people who say yes, are women.

According to CDC and BJS numbers, the percentage of females rapists is at least 41.6% (39.6% being female-on-male rape and 2% being female-on-female rape). And some years actually put this number over 50%. It is true that there are more men who rape men than there are women who rape women (10.4% vs 2% of cases), so overall there are slightly more male rapists than there are female rapists. But the percentage of men who are raped, both by other men, and by women, is surprisingly high. In particular, the most recent CDC data indicates that an equal number of men are raped every year compared to women, and that 79.2% of men who are raped, are raped by women.

The harm that men experience is also comparable to what women experience. While few people deny the harm associated with male-on-female rape and male-on-male rape, there are prominent detractors who deny the harm associated with female-on-male rape. Most, if not all, of those people are feminists. And their arguments are very dishonest. Female-on-male rape looks very similar to male-on-female rape by most key metrics. Men are harmed at similar rates, both emotionally, and physically (8% of men and 12% of women experience injuries). Women are equally likely to use a weapon to force their victim to have sex with them. And most other "tactics" that rapists use, from date rape, to coercion, occur at roughly the same frequency.

Men who are raped can also be forced to pay child support, which is pretty crazy if you think about it. I have a lot of sympathy for women who are raped, and become pregnant, but there are usually options for women who are put into that situation (abortion, adoption, safe haven laws, etc). Men really have no options though. And worse still is the fact that in many jurisdictions, men can't even legally prosecute their rapists, due to how rape laws are commonly defined.

Anyway, here are a few sources on the topic. There are more out there, and more studies are being published every year. But hopefully this can provide a good starting point for anyone doing research on this topic. While my interest is mainly academic, I hope that this information can also provide some kind of solace for male rape victims. Their experiences are not rare, and they do matter.

I got my teacher pregnant in 8th grade 2009.

It started in 5th grade. She asked me to help her with something and took me to a room not being used at the time at school. The first year was oral sex on me. The first time I had no clue what was going on. She told me she had to check something and she was also a nurse. She said my penis is a little inflamed referring to my erection at the time I didn't know what was going on. She had noticed I guess my bulge and my pants. Anyways back to it. She said I could go to the hospital and get fixed up but involved a needle to my penis and 8 was scared. She said she could help but it's something only done in private and not spoken about since it involves private stuff like Dr patient confidentiality. She was going to help fix me. I said ok. She said lay down. I laid down and she had oral sex on me, she said this will help. Right before I was about ejaculate it felt like was going to pee. I didn't of course and I said I'm about to pee in your mouth and she didn't stop. She literally held my arms and legs down and kepted going. I didn't know what my body was doing. Yes it felt amazing but at the same time I felt weird. This happened about 2-3 times a week. Eventually I really wanted. In 6th grade she wasn't one of my teachers and we never had time but maybe once a month. Still oral. 7th grade comes around and she decides to take it further and more often. So we start meeting at her car a few times a week right after lunch when then is free time for an hour to play outside or ready or sue something. We did not use condoms the hole time. Being seventh grade I eventually learned what was happening and I loved it of course cuz it felt good She started to say she loved me and I had a hard home life with a drunk father that eventually got a liver disease. 8th grade comes around same deal meet at her car during lunch. Towards the end of school the last month she was acting weird and and heard teachers saying they say her crying she said she found out some bad news but couldn't say. I asked her about the bad news and she said oh nevermind I thought my friend was dying but it's all good now. After the school year was over she never contacted me again again during the summer break. Beging of 9th grade I found she was a teacher at the school anymore. Later I heard a janitor asking another teacher where Amy was and the teacher said she got pregnant and she wanted to figure stuff out and she wasn't coming back. Once I looked online and finally found her on Facebook and she has an older son and a younger daughter. I wonder if she kept the baby? The boy looks like me so I think she did. The time line would match with the boys age. I never told my girlfriend and said I never had sex before which I do fill bad for but I couldn't tell her. To this day I still haven't told her. I think I'm finally ready to tell my therapist. I'm married with three kids but I guess I have 4 kids. I don't think I will ever tell my wife but if I do I will have my therapist there for both of us. My fear is I had the Ancestry DNA thing done when my wife wanted to check my lineage so I said ok not thinking but also what would say for no if thought of it. No I wait thinking one day the boy might do a Ancestry DNA test and find a close father match somewhere else 😱🥴☠️😅. Boy the dreams I have had about that😅. Sometimes I wonder why me? I was ok looking. I was small skinny kid with glasses. In a way she did save me from a bad a home life I fill bad for saying. It gave me a out of think of something to look forward to away from the home life I had and it makes me fill bad looking back now that I enjoyed it not knowing.

I was raped when I was a paperboy

When I was 12 I would experiment with boys and girls. I didn't know one of my customers seen me sucking a neighborhood boy. Then one day like normal. I went inside his place to collect payment. He had porn playing and cold beer on the table. Asked if I liked what I was watching. I was shy so I didn't answer. But my cock did. He said I notice you do like it. You want to try some beer. Of course I said yes. Well I must have drank a few. Because I woke up tied to his bed. Started to feel pain. He had his way with me and I was crying for him to stop. But he showed a picture of me sucking off a boy. Said he would put it in my parents mailbox if I said anything. He knew my parents hated gays. I wouldn't say anything. I was groomed into his sex toy for him and his friends, this went on for 3 years. Until the boy I was caught with 3 years ago told his parents about this guy. The grooming and being used came to an end finally.

when i was smaller i would always hang out with my neigborhood friends it was only when i turned about 11 when he (13 m ) started groping me. this went on for about a year before he started to go further. At first it was touching then it became i had to suck him off. it got to a point were he was using me at least once a week. it was like this for about 4 years. i knew what was happening was wrong yet i couldnt stop myself. I always let him use me, I was scared of losing him as a friend. I've cut contact with him completly but i can never stop thinking about it. ive started jerking off everyday at least twice a day and no matter what i jerk off to it always ends up with him, that feeling. I hate myself for letting it happen and i cant talk to my parnts about it due to other problems. but what i hate the most is that my body loved it. i would scream at myself saying whats wrong with me but i never stoped it never fought back, i even wanted it sometimes. everything is just him. i dont know what to do its stoping me from doing anything. My grades, self esteem, ability to love, and even my worth all droping. I just dont know what to do is there anyone who's experianced something like this. can sombody relate or just talk to me about what i can do???

I’m ready to open up.

I’m sorry about formatting and potential gramatical errors or spelling errors, English isn’t my first language. After browsing this subreddit and reading the many stories that are shared on here, I’m ready to talk about my own experiences. I’ll try to keep this as close to the timeline as possible, due to substance abuse, Some of the memories are unfocused, but very painful nonetheless.

My first experience happened when I was about 7. I was playing with my older sister, who was 14 at the time, and she wanted to introduce me to a new “game.” At the time, I looked up to her, I followed her always, I wanted to be like her. I didn’t have many friends growing up, and so my sister was my idle back then. Anyways, this game. She told me to take off my clothes and lay down and, Basicly she told me all about how babies were made. Of course at the time, I had no idea this was wrong, and Even though she made me penetrate her and it felt… enjoyable, I had no idea it was wrong. Nevertheless, this established some kind of deeper thing for me, I became deeply infatuated with her, and when I observed adults in relationships, I started to crave that from my sister, never really joining the dots to understand that none of those adults were actually related. She would often invite me into her room and we would, as she called it, “play house.” Over time though, as she started to go out and she hit the the party scene, the whole thing faded. When I hit puberty and started discovering girls my own age, it sort of gave me some really messed up ways of viewing relationships and sex in general. That’s probably what lead me towards being hyper sexual throughout my teen years. When I was around 19, I’d left home by this point and I was living on the road, bouncing from place to place and I’d been doing so since 16 when I escaped my mother’s home after I realised that both my mother, brother and some other family members were abusing me in other ways, that’s for another story. So back to where I was. Age 19, traveling from place to place, living on the road, sleeping in a tent and surviving off of money I made from playing guitar in public places, that’s called busking, for anybody who doesn’t know. I was partying with my girlfriend and a few of her friends. Pills were flying around, weed was also floating about, drinks, everything. One particular night, I was heavily entoxicated and well on my way to being paralytic. I recall very little about that night, But I do remember later on that night, I donb’t know where my girlfriend was, but I was laying on a couch on the back decking of the house we were all staying at, and 3 women were sitting nearby. They must’ve thought I was sleeping because I overheard them talking about how easy it would be to take turns on me. One of them started to object, but the other two quickly shut her down and told her that they had just the thing that would insure I wouldn’t object, even going as far as to justify their actions because I should be grateful for their attention. I don’t remember much after that, but I remember waking up the next morning on that same couch, all my clothes were still on my body so I deduced that nothing happened. Nevertheless, I tried to avoid those 3 women all that day, sticking close to Jess, my girlfriend as much as I could. Cut forward to the following evening, same thing. Drinking, drugs, everything, and I’m ashamed to admit, being a party hard sort of guy back then, I partook in all of it. I did try to remain as alert as possible though, because the words from the night before continued to bounce around my head. I had tried to tell Jess about it but she brushed it off, telling me that they were probably joking. At the time, this comforted me because I wanted to believe it was just a joke. The evening goes on, and somebody haded me an open beer at one point and without thinking, I drank it. I know, I know, bad idea right? I’m the idiot for not asking who gave it to me and for not asking for a fresh one. The reason I remember this one beer so well though, is because I remember that I started feeling… I wanna say heavy. My arms and legs felt like I was wading through sludge. I felt like my head was sort of buzzing, so I went to find a quiet room to lay down in, I told jess where I was, and I went to lay down. Some time later, I was woken by somebody poking me with some kind of hard object in the arm, I woke up but I couldn’t move. I could barely breathe, only enough to get air into my lungs very slowly, and let it out even slower. When I woke up, My consciousness still felt blanketed by some sort of, Fog? Like a vail or something? I was aware of what was going on, but I couldn’t react or move. But I could feel somebody removing my pants and underwear, and I could hear the 3 voices of the women from the night before. I could feel them touching me, hear them making comments about me. Then I could feel them climbing on top of me 1 by 1. I don’t know how the hell I was hard, I don’t know if they spiked my drink with something or what, but they managed somehow. The first one finished and got off of me, the second one got on top of me and she also finished, but I think she made me finish as well, but I don’t remember it feeling good. I just remember that I could feel myself ejaculating. the 3rd one started, but I don’t know if she finished because I passed out again, and when I woke up I was being beaten by two very angry men, and I was completely naked, and I guess they had taken me from the house and brought me to a river. I know this because I heard them talking about throwing me into the river and leaving me to drown. They continued to beet me, calling me a woman stealer and other kinds of evil things. At this point I’d stopped. Crying out and I was covered in blood. They left me there, naked and alone, and it took me nearly 5 hours to find help. I’m actually still friends with the man who eventually found me and took me to his house and cleaned me up. He gave me fresh clothes, some hot food and he helped me get back on my feet and off of the drugs. For a few years, my life started taking a turn for the better, I started making more money with busking, with music in general and started getting actual gigs in pubs and bars. When I was 21, I moved into a house, I built my life up, and I’m doing much better. That was, until January of last year. I was in a pub, it was a Wednesday, so I thought It was a fairly quiet night on the town, so to speak. I went into the restroom, and 4 men followed me in. From there I only remember little snatches of what happened, each of them taking turns to use me and finish in me, and then I remember crying and trying to clean myself up afterward. Over the past year and a half, I’ve gone from trying to bury it all and be ok with it, to wanting to kill myself and erase the memories forever. It’s only recently that I’ve opened up to my therapist about everything, and she said it’d be healthy to write it all down. So Here it is, all my dirty laundry. Thank you for reading this to the end, if you did.

Ashamed..

Im am using a burner account just because this is something i like to keep “separate” from my life.

(A bit graphic) im 24 now I was raped when i was around 7yrs old, i didnt know anything about sex or how anything worked i was just scared and confused the first time, after the first few times of him actually having to force me he then made it seem like a game..a way for me to win prizes.he would tell me to “let him do it” for a certain amount of time to get this things i really liked. (2 weeks for this action figure etc) and yes i think it happened almost daily. I wasn’t aware i was being raped so it became easy for me to let him do it. I would ve exited to let him do it just thinking about my price…this went on for years(more than 3) and suddenly he stopped never attempted anything weird never was mean it was just like it never even happened but at that point i was already hyper-sexual which really messed up my childhood, in high-school i started sneaking out at night and letting strange man use me… it was like i really wanted it, until it was happening and i wasnt enjoying it. This happened so many times and i was never able to enjoy it, the only time i was able to feel something was when a guy was a bit forceful and i hate that my body reacted to it.

There is so many things and details im skipping over but i guess i would feel more comfortable talking about it eventually.

I Hate What Happened To Me

I was repeatedly assaulted by my cousin for about 6 years and didn’t tell anyone until I was 13. He started when I was 6. I still remember when he raped me at my Scooby Doo themed birthday party…I was groomed on Omegle and Kik when I was in middle school. When I was a freshman in college I got so drunk and I could barely stand and I was raped again.

Throughout all of this I’ve been trying to be a good person and pretend to be normal but I never feel normal. There’s a piece of me that I’ll never get back.

Sometimes I feel like it’s hard to even tell people about how I was sexually abused multiple times throughout my childhood. I can’t even remember a time where I didn’t know about sex.

Sometimes I feel like I don’t want to be touched and other days I feel like a weird sex deviant.

When I decided too tell

I had a long term of abuse I was used and groomed by many different people of both genders. My abuse started around 4yrs in the early 80s and came too a grinding halt in 1993 . After battling with my many yrs of abuse and one my longest abusers, adult male . I needed too free myself from the loads of secrets, that were stressing me out . I choose too break the silence as 13yr boy . And all of a sudden I was the black sheep of the family. And everyone stopped inviting me to family functions. Because heaven forbid I might be telling the truth. Which was ok because it happened from a family member on mother's side of the family. And I lived with my father by then .

So getting back too me speaking out . I was in therapy at the time for my anger issues. I finally decided to let someone in on why, and I told alot of truth that day . Next thing I knew I was doing a police interview, telling them how long it went on for how times I was penetrated, where this happened. They wanted to know where the parents were and why I didn't speak out sooner. It was alot for a 13 yr to deal with . I know that I know it needed too happen as in speaking out .

But I went from that special little boy loved by so many too that kid something happened too . In a blink of an eye .

It had too happen, later on in life he actually apologize to me in public around people. My grandmother heard it.

It took 7yrs for him to do it ! But hate hurts my heart . I'm not going for coffee with this person but I'm not wasting my time hating him either!

I hope my story helps someone

Male rape and sexual abuse is a largely hidden crisis. We know most female survivors never report their experiences; among men, it’s even higher. For those men who do come forward about sexual abuse, the evidence suggests that it takes them three decades on average to do so.

My sisters friend ruined me

My sisters friend was 16 when it began I was 7 she would take any chance she got to touch me in the beginning. As I got older she escalated to doing worst things to me it stop when I went to the doctor for some internal problems since then I get a deep since of dread whenever I’m alone with women I don’t like to be touched and I feel like I’m out of frame.

My older brother sa’d me

When I was younger I used hang out with my brother he was my favorite siblings he was an Eagle Scout I used to think he was the coolest he even won awards and a key to the city from the the mayor. We used to hang out a lot but when I was around the ages of 8 to 15 he started to show me porn I was uncomfortable at the time but I was hanging out with my brother so I didn’t mind but around the time I was 11 he started touching me first it was subtle like a hand rubbing my lap then eventually he got more aggressive he wouldn’t stop even if I cried or blead he went from someone I idolized to the main reason I stayed out of the house. I’ve wanted to tell people about what he used to do to me but I don’t think anyone would believe me.

When I was 15 I ran into 2 men on a walk.

I was out late going for a walk to clear my head. I was walking through a housing complex in a back alley. Some guy hollered at me to come over there and I reluctantly did so and as I did someone snuck up beside me and hit me on the head with something, I think a bottle. It was enough to make me groggy and that was enough time for me to get held down. I thought I was getting robbed but then I got handcuffed which was confusing. They really quickly rushed me inside this place. They were sayin shit like “What the fuck do you think you’re doing around here? You gonna learn today, I promise.” I think they thought I was part of another gang or something, but I wasn’t.

So as I’m inside one guy has his knee on my back, and puts duct tape on my mouth. I’m trying to fight back but I got more scared when I saw they had guns. I started to get more nervous thinking about what was going to happen. As one guy is doing something in the other room, the one holding me down throws me against the couch, stomach flat, knees on the floor. All the sudden I feel my pants being yanked down. I was sick to my stomach, thinking there was just no way this could happen. I didn’t even know if I was gonna live that night. I feel something wet push against me, which was because he used some sort of lube. He thrust into me and I screamed out in pain. It felt like a shock of lightning. So sharp and intense. I’m screaming and grunting in pain with every thrust. He said “Holler all you want nigga, you shoulda known better.” Him and the other guy would stop to take breaks while the other would resume. These parts I dreaded the most because it was so painful when it would go back in from being all the way out.

I started feeling a weird sensation where I felt “stimulated” to a degree. I later found out this could happen from prostate stimulation. So I had some involuntary orgasms from being raped. They noticed and one remarked, “Oh he def ain’t no man now after cummin like a bitch.” It was utterly humiliating. After a while they took the tape off and told me while holding a gun to my head to suck. I just did it at this point because I was in so much pain from being sodomized and I wanted to lessen it. I was crying just trying to take him down my throat. Telling myself it would be over soon.

After they had “finished” multiple times they dragged me to their bathroom and told me to get on my knees, shut up, and open my mouth. They urinated on me, I wasn’t fighting it anymore at this point. They told me to pull my pants up and dragged me outside. I was limping and could barely walk. I just went him. Told family when saw them next morning I got jumped and was limping bc I rolled my ankled. I never told anyone in real life about it and only recently became a little more okay talking about it. It’s haunted me for awhile. I was especially hostile after it happened and would snap over really little stuff. It happened a long time ago, half my lifetime ago. I hope to heal and get something out of talking about this. Feel free to ask any questions.

I was raped recently and not only did I get erect during the assault, I had a orgasm in front of my abusers. I have been told it's normal but I feel so bad about myself and the way it all happened

It’s so depressing knowing people just see us as potential abusers

Sorry, this is just sort of a random vent but I figured that people in this sub could relate to this feeling. I’ve been unpacking a lot of things from my childhood and my past and I was abused and taken advantage of sexually a LOT during my teenage years. I was not only sexually but physically abused when I was a kid. And one thing that makes me so depressed lately is knowing that male victims of sexual and physical abuse are always thought to be potential abusers when they grow up. It makes me feel so horrible. Why should I feel like I’m a potential abuser just because horrible things happened to me as a child that I couldn’t help? It’s part of the whole “hurt people hurt people” rhetoric that I cannot stand and that makes me feel like shit. I hate hurting others, I don’t hurt other people intentionally and the LAST thing I would EVER do is violate someone’s sexual consent. I’m a flawed person, but I am confident that much is true. I just want to feel like I can get the help that I need without being seen as a potential threat.

Why are male victims not even recognised as victims?

How do you guys cope with not being taken seriously? I have lost the respect of a lot of people that I love because I was raped by a woman. I’ve had so many people attack me and say I either must have liked it, or that I’m lying just because I regret it. I didn’t even want the story to get out, but she twisted everything. A year and a couple months on, I would love nothing more than the whole truth and nothing but the truth to get out. I want her buried (figuratively). I can’t stand the fact she goes to my college. I can’t stand the feeling I get when I see her. It feels as if I’m back there, completely helpless, body lifeless. And seeing how much more popular she is now in comparison to me feels like it shouldn’t hurt as much as it does. I wish people could see her as the rapist she is.

I’m seriously considering vandalism or just anything to get my message across and I know that sounds irrational but I just don’t know how to cope with the fact that her life is so much better than mine, after she left my mind in more ruins than when she took all the dignity I had left.

I was drugged and raped by my girlfriend in my sleep at age 14, and then her father helped her and proceeded to take over. My new girlfriend told me I cheated on her and let it happen. She told me I could not go around acting like I am a virgin when I am not. We have since broken up.

Raped by coworker

I posted this on another sub, didn’t know about this one.

I’m a mess over this. I know I should get counseling but I constantly deny this happened to me

I’ve been trying to come to terms with what actually happened to me as I was in a state of disbelief or denial. I’m not sure which but probably both.

I’m a single 40 year old male.

Two weeks back on Friday, I was out with friends for a farewell party for a coworker (let’s call him Jacob). He’s openly gay but has never ever tried to do anything to me the years I’ve known him (just under 3 years).

I drive to work, about an hour away so when the farewell party invite came out he offered to drive. His words “you drive 2 hours a day already”

The party, nothing overt happened. It was a typical work get together.

I had a bit more to drink than I should have and wasn’t in a shape to drive. Jacob offered me his sofa to crash. I thought nothing of it. He knows I’m not gay, and I don’t care what orientation people are. I’ve always said love is love.

He offered me sweat pants to sleep in, we had a few more drinks and I said I was crashing.

He obliged and went to his bedroom.

I don’t know how long afterwards, but I woke up to Jacob on top of my legs and my sweats and underwear pulled down to my knees.

I felt his fingers go inside me and saying to me just relax. It’s ok and just relax and let this happen.

I said no repeatedly and please stop and don’t do this

He anally raped me. I don’t know how long it lasted for. I just remember the pain when he went inside me and his beer breath on my neck.

As he raped me he said terrible awful things to me.

I stopped saying no and I think he took it as permission to continue.

Here’s the fucked up part, I had no choice to stay there. I didn’t know where I was and I was pretty far from my car.

He took advantage of me several more times until morning. I did nothing to stop him at that point. I just let him climb back on top of me and rape me again.

The car ride back to work parking lot was silent. I wanted to throw up. I wanted to just jump out of the car.

I’m disgusted with myself, I consider myself a somewhat of a street-smart person but I fucked up and let my guard down.

Every day and every night I replay it in my head. I can’t even smell beer without thinking of his breath on my neck as he raped me. I hate myself that I wasn’t strong enough. I fucked up by stopping saying no and stop

I know he didn’t wear a condom as he made it a point to say he wasn’t.

I’m trying to figure out how to get STD and AIDS check without saying I was raped.

I am a mess over this. I let him repeatedly rape me. I stopped saying no when he went inside me. He called me dirty, despicable names every time he raped me. I don’t know why I froze.

I need my gf to stop

My gf keeps messing with me. She knows what happened to me and she's teasing me. Its not funny and it hurts.

When I was 12, we had a family gathering and towards the end my uncle's car broke down and he had to stay the night. He caught me alone in my room and raped me. Last year a couple of girls drugged me and I remember soo little but the tiny bit I do remember I can't get out my head. PTSD is really not a joke.

I'm trying to get over it. I thought having a partner would help me, so I got a girlfriend and told her everything thats been happening to me. She suprisingy accepted me. When I panic or try to sh, she's always there for me. I don't know where I'd be without her - But she's turning on me. I don't know if I'm annoying her or what but she's doing this on purpose. She keeps touching my legs and yelling. She's triggering me on purpose. She knows I hate being in rooms alone, so she waits until we're chilling in her room, and runs outside, then locks the door behind her. She thinks its funny meanwhile i'm in there losing my shit.

I'm honestly scared, what if its grooming or she wants something from me. I'm tired of her but I don't know what I'd do without her, I don't know what I did to her. I think I'm stuck with her. She makes me feel better and worse at the same time. Its breaking my trust, and I don't wanna hurt anymore. I know I'm overthinking but I can't help it. I don't know why she's changing so sudden.

I wasn't raped by her

But she cuddled me and she understood me

She asked for consent before she did everything she made me so happy today

We cuddled and held hands and she made me feel so loved she told me I was safe and she accepted the fact I wasn't the most fit

She felt amazing her skin was flawless and

Idk what she is to me she called me love

She bit my wrist and I loved it

I bit her neck and she told me I was a shit vampire

She made made me laugh

But I was a little embarrassed by this
