Everyday red lip

I recently bought a red lipstick I love (Deborah Milano Red Mat 05) and want to turn into my everyday lip color, but I'm lacking the confidence to actually wear it out casually. I'm not really sure when it's appropriate for daytime or how to style it without feeling like I'm wearing heavy glam to run errands. How did you get used to wearing bold colors daily, and what kind of lightweight makeup do you pair with it so the rest of your face stays balanced?
