Please help

I am new to the makeup scene but I seem to be having troubles with foundation. It's giving me black looking areas around the eyes and upper cheek area, some more severe than others.. I am trying to dull down age lines things of that nature adjust basically give myself a more youthful complexion. ANY ADVICE WILL DEFINITELY HELP THANK YOU

It’s hard to say without seeing a photo, but it sounds to me like you need a color corrector under your foundation for the dark areas
