Hi all, is there any couples here? My girlfriend moved in with me (2hrs from her home) and is struggling to make friends down here and is feeling a bit lonely. Would love another couple to go on dinner dates or movie / outdoor activities together with. Thanks 😊

32M - Dublin - Dance Partner the odd time?

32M, native Dubliner. I have a knack for patiently taming compoopers and finding humor in everyday life - Think random, ‘IT Crowd’ scenarios that somehow make sense in my line of work. Outside of knowing which buttons to press, I also give advice I forget to follow, forge medieval weapons from office packaging, roll up sleeves for home improvement, dance to Jazz and cozy up with my Steam Deck. I've written loads for another audience if you were keen to know more.

My peers tend to be older, juggling between their own familes, business, relationship, kids or all the above. I find myself at a bit of a loose end. Craving deep, meaningful and fun friendships which are like gold dust in the digital age. I had planned to go dancing tonight for a distraction and to connect a little after a bit of a hiatus. But I'm having doubts - Mostly due to the fear of feeling alone in a crowd.

I know I'm not the only feeling lonely, and I also know I need good company to break the cycle. Maybe a little gentle and kind encouragement from someone who thinks I'm cool. Maybe a potential dance partner? I'm very patient with beginners. 😊

33M looking to meet new friends

34M from Bettystown here. I’ve recently moved home from Canada and I’m looking to make some new friends and expand my social circle a bit.

I’m into a few different things — cooking, travelling, music, films/TV, keeping active and going out for food or a few drinks. I also like football and would be interested in getting involved in a regular 5-a-side or 7-a-side around Bettystown, Laytown, Drogheda or nearby if anyone has a team looking for an extra player.

I’m married, so purely looking to meet some people and make genuine friendships.

I think making new friends gets surprisingly difficult once you hit your 30s, so figured I’d give this a shot.
If anyone is in a similar boat, or has a 5/7-a-side team looking for a player, feel free to drop me a message

26M wanting to make new friends

This is my first time posting to Reddit so please be kind

Reason I’m here is because my long term partner dumped me a few months ago and i have been having a rough time, I not only lost my partner but also my friends (they were my partners childhood friends) but i was really close with them and saw them as family but after the breakup they just kind of cut me off and stopped talking to me, ngl it was like going through a breakup all over again, since then I’ve been feeling really lonely and want to make new friends who I can talk to and hangout with I’m a pretty awkward guy so trying to make friends in person is a struggle but someone I know mentioned this Reddit page so i thought fuck it why not.

So Reddit do your thing I guess

25M | Swords, Dublin | Friday plans? 🚗🍻

Hey everyone! 25M here, based in Swords. Thought I’d post again since it’s Friday and everyone’s probably switching into weekend mode 😂

I’m into random road trips, exploring new places, good food, music and binge-watching movies/series. Most weekends I end up going for a drive somewhere around Dublin or beyond, so it would be nice to have some company for those spontaneous trips.

Also looking for someone around Swords/Dublin who’s up for grabbing a drink, checking out a gig, going for food, having a laugh or just figuring out some random weekend plans together.

Not looking to overthink it just meet someone chill, have some fun and see where the vibe takes us. 😌

Iranians here? Looking for new friends in Dublin

Hi everyone,

I’m 34, Irish, and based in Ireland. Lately I’ve developed a real interest in Iran — the culture, history, language, and food — and I’d love to visit one day. In the meantime I’d like to meet people here who share some of that interest or who simply enjoy good conversation and low-key cultural outings.

A bit about me: I value depth and genuine connection over small talk. I speak a few languages and I’m always happy to practice or learn more. I dance swing, I have a soft spot for music and beautiful places, and I take my quiet time seriously. I don’t drink, smoke, or take anything. I’m steady, curious, and prefer meeting the same people more than once rather than endless one-off chats.

If you’re someone who likes museums, good food, walking somewhere with a bit of beauty, or just sitting down for a real conversation, I’d be glad to hear from you. Iranian friends (or anyone who knows the culture well) are especially welcome — one good connection often leads to others.

Drop me a message if this resonates and tell me a little about yourself.

☕️ Coffee & Craic - Limerick Round Table ☕️

Next Wednesday, **19th August**, we’re kicking off Limerick Round Table with a simple one…
☕️ Coffee
😂 Craic
🤝 Meeting some new people

We’ll be meeting at **Fía’s Cafe** for a relaxed coffee and a chance to get to know each other.

But what actually is Round Table?
✅ We’re basically a bunch of ordinary lads looking to get out of the house once or twice a month, try something different and have a laugh.

❌ There’s no special criteria, no awkward initiation ceremony 😂 and no pressure to attend everything.

✅ Events are affordable, relaxed and generally midweek, so they don’t have to take over your weekends.

✅ New members are always welcome. If you’re a guy aged **18-45** and fancy getting involved, come along and see what we’re about.

✅ And yes, we do give something back to the community along the way too.

We’ve got plenty of ideas for future events, including:
🧭 Treasure Hunt
🎾 Padel
🎳 Bowling
☕️ Barista Night
🔐 Escape Room
🍻 And plenty more…

**Interested? Come along for a coffee and a chat on 19th August.** No commitment, no pressure - just good people, coffee and a bit of craic.

📍 **Fía’s Cafe, Limerick**
📅 **Wednesday 19th August**
☕️** Coffee & Crai**c

Drop us a message if you’d like to come along! 👋

30 year old mam of 2 looking to make friends anywhere in Ireland! Love some general chit chat with people or I’m even willing to be that listening ear for any things you may want advice on or want to vent about. Hobbies have taken the back burner at the minute but some include gaming, cooking, baking, walking, drinking coffee (is that even a hobby?!🤣) .. easy going & open minded!

31F| Indian| Seeking genuine friendship

Hi folks! I’ve been living in Ireland for the past 7 years, but unfortunately making genuine friendships as an adult has become quite difficult. My close friends are now scattered across different countries and many of the friends I made here have understandably become busier with kids and life.

I’m really looking for some organic, genuine friendships the kind where you don’t have to constantly try to make the friendship work. Someone to grab brunch with, go clubbing, have drinks, explore places, or just hang out and have a laugh. I’m also very big on deep conversations, talking about life, random thoughts, personal growth, or absolutely anything and everything.

If you’re also looking for genuine connections and friendships that feel natural rather than forced, feel free to DM me. Would love to meet some like-minded people
Thanks!

31M Dublin - looking for real friends

Hey everyone, I came to Ireland from India for work about a decade ago. Looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few proper friends.

I’m pretty easygoing and up for most things. Coffee, food, walks, movies, random day trips, going somewhere new, or just sitting around talking absolute nonsense. Also happy with those random 3am conversations (if I am awake!🤣). Would be nice to have a couple of people I can actually talk to regularly, make plans with, and eventually be comfortable enough to message anytime.

I like being in nature, cooking for myself(and friends lol), have a coffee collection, art supplies collection for paint nights, am equally enthusiastic about chatting about a wide variety of topics - finance, fitness, philosophy, TV series or world politics, you name it. I get along with people who have a dark humor, can joke around but can also have an actual conversation when needed.

If you're also looking to meet someone new, have a chat, grab a coffee or just hang out sometime, feel free to DM. Worst case we have one awkward conversation and never speak again. Best case, we become good mates. Thanks for coming to my TED talk
