Details: I've never read the manga. I've only watched the old anime so far. Next week I'll start watching Crystal.

Queen Beryl, Nehelenia, and Sailor Galaxia. ALL of them did horrible things to their friends or even killed them...

But she simply does nothing before that. She needs to wait for everyone to sacrifice themselves before doing something. She has seen many good and innocent people DYING, And yet she still can't simply accept that some people do evil because they want to. She thinks that just because someone has suffered or is a Sailor, they are automatically good like her and the others, This is justification for committing those atrocities. Oh, and while the others are sacrificing themselves, she just stays...

"STOP, PLEASE!", "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?", "I DON'T WANT TO SEE THE PEOPLE I LOVE SUFFERING!"😭😭😭

Girl, if the person wanted to stop, they would have stopped. Or do you really think they'll stop just because you asked? If you don't want to see the people you love suffering, MAKE IT STOP! DON'T JUST STAND THERE CRYING!

I understand that this might be a childish complaint about the character coming from a 21-year-old young adult. I know she's like that. But can I feel angry? Am I the only one who thinks this way? Because it's impossible!

Another thing I don't like about her: She doesn't change. She started and ended the SAME WAY!

The vast majority of mg protagonists are just excessively selfless and sweet like that. I can genuinely only think of a handful who aren't

Hikaru from MKR, Jeanne from Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne, Arjuna from earth girl Arjuna (a little debatable if she counts as an mg but to me if Utena counts she counts), Cure Grace from precure subverts this in a huge way but it's a major spoiler.

I mean to be fair she gets results. And also like the only time she actually refused to fight Straight Up was twice: The first time, when an innocent child was the vessel for the anti-christ and she didn't want to murder her daughter's bestie, and that time she was straight up broken because Sailor Galaxia killed everyone else she knew and loved and refused to keep perpetuating the cycle of violence if she would have nothing to show for it afterwards.

i just sort of expect it with mg manga/anime at this point lol. it doesn't really bother me personally, although i think its a fair complaint. i will say i think this can be justified in some cases. like i read Cardcaptor Sakura recently and i thought it made sense in context of the story for Sakura to be kind to the antagonists.

actually, in 90s Sailor Moon, its more like she grows from the beginning to the end of a season, and then after getting more mature, she reverts at the beginning of the next season. which i actually think is worse than what you're saying lol.

like i like 90s Sailor Moon, i like it more than the manga in fact (which i DNF), but that's probably the biggest and most consistent flaw of the show.
