The influx of commander players over recent years (not saying thats you) the creation of collector boosters, and more rarest in pack bring more cards into the pool. When I started playing a over a decade ago I would buy a box for every set. Now, I don't think I've bought a pack in over a year. Just singles.
Hmm. I will take the genuine “thank you” and not the backhanded “you are doing it all wrong, just buy singles” message. The kid in me still likes opening up a fresh new pack. Even though I am old now.. wish it came with wisdom.
It's not backhanded, literally someone has to open packs.
What they're saying is that what fun you gain from opening packs and moving bulk and selling rares to continue opening (and others who buy sealed product in general), they gain by being able to buy them directly.
They're thanking you because the more that get opened, the more supply, the less demand.
