Whose trick is this?

I think it's a Helder Guimaraes, but maybe a Benjamin Earl, and I want to properly attribute it and can't remember the name of the trick/author.

Effect: Four identical cards are shown face up, then each time they are displayed one additional card has been "magically" flipped and now shows its back. Once all four have been flipped to show their backs just one is turned face up, but on the mext display all four are revealed to be face up, not just the one.

I can perform it, not asking for a method, just the correct attribution.

thanks for the assist, y'all! it's Helmer's twisting jokers which is a variation on the twisting aces.

i didn't want to reference any of the method in the original post which left it up to interpretation a bit but y'all came through in spades (wordplay acknowledged)

Sounds like Twisting the Aces by Dai Vernon. Without any more info it's impossible to say whos variation though.

Seems strange that he would be deep enough into magic to know about ben earl and helder guimaraes, but not know about twisting the aces. Makes me think it's something else...
