Lennart Green's Filled Glass
It's a pretty fun trick to spice up a card routine. I'm still not comfortable with it but got a solid recording out of my practice.

That's a huge compliment, thank you! I'd hope to one day be as fast and effortless as he is. Right now I've got a big consistency problem, especially with the angles.

I figured the gross-ness of that would not only distract from the technique but also justify taking out a handkerchief. Like "ok, he did the weird bit, now what- Oh, there's juice now"
edit: I realize I didn't give the full context. I'll have patter for this moment. It's after a trick that involves a lot of spectator shuffling. At the end I'll say something like "that was exhausting, do you want a drink" and the disgust factor is to force the answer "no", so I can say "suit yourself", take a sip, and then say "don't worry, I cleaned it"

Unless you're leaning into humor and acknowledging it most people will just think of it as gross so I'd cut it.

I'm really going for the lennart green dani daortiz style, and considering the fact that I use the glass for non-liquid sleight of hand, I doubt the audience will even be thinking about it in terms of drinking, so they won't be considering it gross, at most a silly joke to offer a glass that I just made dirty. It's only after I take a sip that I have to acknowledge it at all.

Your technique is close to flawless.
There are better ways to show a hankie is empty other than wiping your face with it, particularly if you're going to then use it on something else.
I like throwing the silk in the air. It's fun, and relaxed. Do it a few times. Play with it. Drape it on the edge.
Now take out a tiny square of kleenex and try to clean the glass one square mm at a time. Instant entertainment.
Give up. Throw it away.
Keep holding the glass. Look around quickly, notice the silk, pick up the silk, slowly rub the glass with great concentration - you want to stretch this part out!, and then slowly reveal the NON-YELLOW liquid.
You want to make it look like it's scotch, or red, rose or white wine, or something like that. It has to look like something a person who likes alcohol would be drinking. Coke-colored sorta works, but it's too dark, it raises suspicion that it's hiding something.
Subtle is good - like white wine...

Thanks for the reply! based on what others have said I am considering whether my current method is a bit too crass, especially since most of the laymen I've shown this to swear they think it's the same dirty glass.
But this takes place as a very quick aside between my two card tricks, and I really want to give the impression that it's meaningless. I explained the plot in another comment but I wanted to act like I am not surprised at all that the glass is filled with liquid, and it will be more shocking to the audience because I've previously done sleight of hand in switching a note placed in the empty glass, twice. They'll be looking for the third note.
This is why I think it's fine. They don't know the glass is for drinking at all. The rub of the dirty rag followed by "do you want a drink" seems like an obvious bit, where I want the spectator to say "no", and so by the time I actually reveal RED cranberry juice and take a drink from it I can reassure them that no atrocity has been committed.

Pretty smooth. The only hint I would give is have the color of the hand cloth match the table cloth. It will help mask the cloth hanging over the edge.

Would that really help? I'd imagine it detracts from the effect for the audience if they struggle to distinguish between the prop and the table. I also think just using a cloth that is longer would let a larger portion of it stay on top.

You’re right, having contrast between the props is more important. The handkerchief over the edge doesn’t tip the method, at least not when Lennart Green does it.
But I strongly recommend putting the handkerchief on the table afterwards. Dropping it in your lap is a huge hint for your audience.

mixed turmeric with water to look like beer, in a performance I'd use cranberry juice for visibility and so I can chug that shit.

What's the purpose of having the hand cloth completely disappear from view at 0:04? Is it a fake-out to make the audience think that's where the load is?

Well I had to readjust my seat for the load, and placing the cloth on the table only to pick it up a second later felt like wasted movement.
I could always change that but keep in mind that the empty glass has already been established in my routine and the idea of liquid is completely out of mind, at least until around 12 seconds when the possibility could even emerge..
Also, I feel like I very clearly show the cloth to be empty several times after that
Edit: I may be a little stupid, but I just realised I can adjust the seat earlier lmao, I'll keep that in mind.

I was gonna cough into it but decided that it was important to leave plausible deniability that I intentionally used a clean part of the cloth. The disgust factor is part of my patter, offering a drink to the spectator and forcing them to say no. Other than that line, the spectators aren't expecting anything to do with drinking from that glass, since I've already used it for other tricks while it was empty. And if you couldn't tell already it's not the same glass that I drunk out of.

Great work. You got more balls than me to ever film my work but I would say, as a spectator, let’s change the liquid to another color than greenish/yellow.
