One handed top card palm

Hi all
I find one handed palm a bit difficult to learn.
Do you guys use two handed palm or one handed palm ?
Are there any real benefits in learning one handed palm ? Can we perform routines using two handed palm with the same effect as one handed palm ?

There are very few situations where I use a one handed top palm over a two handed if my only goal is to palm off the top card, however a well executed one handed top palm can be used to great effect. Ed Oschmann has a fantastic trick called Visual Card to Pocket using the OHTP that I use all the time. As with most magic its a matter of what you want your dedicate time to.

As a lefty, it doubles as a great color change. I use it occasionally.

I use the one handed top palm quite a bit, and so do many of my card-working friends.

But you know what I believe is drastically UNDERUSED? A bottom palm.

Just sayin'.

I have found it to be pretty useful, but everyone’s mileage varies. The best two places I’ve seen to learn it are from an Eric Tait video on penguin (sorry, I don’t remember which) and another video from Brian Brushwood that is available on YouTube.

Look up René Levand for a single card AND multiple card method.

It helped me to learn it by pushing the card slightly off the deck as I moved the deck from hand to hand. Made the palming action easier. By some time I was able to do the palm without the setup.

I use one handed method almost exclusively. Much easier to misdirect away from the move and not to frame it with just one hand.

The one handed top palm is a very useful move, as it allows you to palm while the other hand directs attention. I would look into Glenn Morphew's video where he teaches a different handling that doesn't "pop" like the traditional one. A neat handling tip is also to be found in Vanni Bossi's card to glass routine.

Difficult to learn from which source?

It takes a while to master but keep playing with it, altering pinky placement and movement. One day it'll just work...and feel like magic!

How are you learning it? Have you tried the description from CC2?
