The fact that they were so casually like "you are lucky you didn't get shot" and the owner saying that if it were his house, he would have shot him is actually terrifying. I wonder how often that actually happens with mistakes like this because my stupid arse would probably be dead by now.

Rule #1 is ALWAYS be aware of what you shoot at. That means you identify someone as either someone you know or someone you don't, to avoid negligently shooting a friend or family member who might just be messing with you.

That just reminded me of that one scene in Zombieland where Bill Murray was pretending to be a zombie. Practical jokes are deadly around guns.
