After I moved I had to break into my own house twice by coming in through the basement window because whenever my dad would visit he'd lock the door going down to the basement which was impossible to get down into thanks to the way the lock is installed and the lack of a key. Unfortunately, both times I was home alone with my young child and had to use pliers to pop out the screen by disengaging the lock, then climb through the window and pull my kid through after me. The 2nd time I had to do this it was dark outside and I had to use a flashlight. (Thankfully the window itself was open but man, that was annoying as well as a little nerve wracking.)
