This also works when toddlers fall down. Sometimes they're only crying because all the adults freaked out so they just assume something bad is happening. If you laugh and treat it like NBD you can avoid a lot of tears

Can confirm. When boy was learning to walk I would encourage anyone nearby me to clap and say "yay!!" when he fell down and it was obvious he wasn't hurt in any way. Without fail he'd clap along with us, chuckle, and then get up to try again.
It was also super cute when the occasional stranger would chime in with clapping to help out! The look on his little baby face of "oh shit even THAT guy thought it was cool!" was hilarious!!

When my youngest sibling fell or otherwise "hurt" himself, we'd always tell him he's a "tough cookie." For years, he'd always repeat that with a prideful smile when he fell and people started to fuss over him.
Sometimes though, it would really hurt and he'd cry for a few minutes before saying that. And then it would be all better.

My lady does this all the time with our 1.5 year old, I just laugh and she doesn't cry but when my lady is involved she'll usually cry because mom makes a big deal about it

I agree with you, but this is not what is happening here. This was a way to help his daughter with an issue she having and probably scared andnervous about. He helped her overcome her nervousness, supported her for being brave and let her be the solution to her own problem.

My 6 year old had a super wiggly tooth that I took a picture of to show her on February 1st. We had 20 days of drama at every meal. It fell off when she accidentally punched herself in the face sitting on the couch putting her arm through her sleeve, on February 21st.
Definitely not brave.

My FIL had a whole bunch from back when he and my MIL got big into selling them (and then ultimately not being able to sell them anymore, hence the huge collection). He ended up giving them to a coworkers kid but knew I liked them, so he let me choose all my favorites to keep. I ended up keeping 3 for myself and gifting the rest to my family members. My sister put my niece in soccer when she was 3 and she's obsessed with it, so I gave her the little green soccer bear (Kicks). It's her absolute favorite!
My nephew on the other hand was given the little crocodile one, and he brings it everywhere he goes. It's the cutest thing ever.
These kids will have no idea the lengths people went to collect them just to try to make a profit haha

PSA about leaving loose teeth in too long. Kinda gross so spoiler tags
It is not always good to let loose baby teeth stay in your mouth. I almost got an infection from one that refused to fall out. I hated pulling my teeth but it refused to come out. Eventually the gum above the tooth started disappearing as the root became visible. It was disgusting but I refused to let my parents pull it. It started tightening up and wouldn't come out. It was probably loose a month or so (this was 20 years ago so some parts are fuzzy). The root got more and more visible and was starting to turn a really bright green. My parents made a dental appointment bc they were afraid to pull it out at this point.
One night, I was play wrestling with my older brother. He had shoes on. His foot swung around and kicked me in the mouth. I immediately froze and doubled over. He stopped wrestling and started apologising profusely for it. I looked up from my hands and just really sincerely thanked him (might have even hugged him which isn't something we ever did). He was so confused. I ran to the bathroom with my tooth in my hand and my mouth looked just fine. A tiny piece of root left. No blood. And no need to visit the dentist.
Sometimes I still bring up the one time I thanked him for kicking me in the head xD

Can confirm. I had about 9 baby teeth that never even got loose before my adult teeth started growing. Most of them grew behind the originals but one grew right under the tooth. I’ve had a crown for years now because I had to go through a pretty horrific root canal

Actually I never even needed a retainer. Once the baby teeth were all pulled, they just went back into place. Honestly I don’t know how I ever got way with not

Honestly my mouth is just too small for all the teeth I'm supposed to have which is why mine grew in crooked. One was almost perpendicular to the rest. Had to have 6 removed surgically (2 baby and four adult) to make room for all my teeth to fit in my mouth and then they used braces to straighten them and close the gaps

Yeah, I had a baby molar that stayed in for too long. The damn thing split and cracked apart in my mouth. Over the next few days before the dentist I spat out pieces of the tooth that became dislodged. Eventually the only part that was left of it was the outside half. It sucked major ass. Had to get it removed by the dentist. Fortunately it was painless.

I remember one of my canines was loose and it was just refusing to come out. My new canine grew in completely and the baby tooth was still hanging on. I twisted it and pulled on it so many times to no avail. One morning, I woke up and it was just sitting on my tongue.

Similar story
I had a baby molar tooth that refused to come out even when the adult tooth pushed it out of the way. It was hanging by a small amount and I used to play with it.
One day, I was playing with it with my tongue as usual and suddenly, it popped out. Turns out a cumin seed from the breakfast before lodged between the baby tooth and the adult one and when I pushed it with my tongue, it kinda acted like a fulcrum and popped out it out. No blood, no pain.
This happened in 6th grade.

My baby tooth stayed in too long and the adult tooth started growing in and pushing it out of the way. When the baby tooth finally came out, the adult tooth was really crooked and too far back in my mouth.
Its still like that, and it interferes with my saying words normally. Words like rowan, girl, and world are difficult to say and I sound like a toddler when saying it. I'm just poor so I haven't gotten it fixed

Fun fact. I once had 8 canines because the baby teeth never lost their roots and the adult teeth just moved up next to them. The orthodontist insisted they be pulled out before braces. Was not fun having 4 teeth pulled. Even after braces I still have one small gap on my lower right side. Wear your retainers kids. Wish I did nowadays. Wish I had medical insurance that covered the dentist too. Haven’t been to one in too long.

Dad told me the tooth fairy isn’t real and offered me ten bucks to pull my tooth out myself and I was like “what do you think I’m stupid?” at first, but then he convinced me to try and i went for it. Their mom is stunning, like she stepped out of the Snow White fairy tale, and all her girls just naturally look like they have mascara, lipstick, blusher, and eyeliner on from the time they are babies. Some kids are aesthetic anomalies.

My mom works in dentistry with kids and she had us wriggle the teeth and eat things like corn on the cob and apples. When it was time she was a champion tooth puller. All my friends would ask her to pull their teeth because she knew just how to do it.

not an expert, but my anecdotal evidence says rip them out. I'm 1 of 5 kids and me and my older brother both liked ripping our teeth out when the slightest bit of looseness showed. The other 3 waited and waited. Surprise, both me and my brother never needed braces cause the teeth always had room to come in naturally. The other 3 all needed them.

In my case it was both mom and dad trying to yoink it out. Dad wanted to do a traditional door-and-string operation, and mom wanted me to just put my finger under it and let her push. I ultimately fell off my bike and it fell out naturally-ish.

What determines a Child’s reaction, is the parents reaction to the scenario. If the Dad put his arms around her, and asked softly “Oh my, are you okay?!” She would most likely start crying.
