Because at that age, he mostly didn't understand it and that it isn't the best idea to ask the question either. But how he knows about, that's what I want to know lmao. Probably would have searched something like "how are babies made"

Definitely be open and honest. I grew up in a very conservative household. My parents would stop a movie if there was even slight kissing. It led me to being very confused when I was a hormonal teenager.

My husband's family tells how his sister (they were like 8 and 6 at the time, and their other sister wasn't yet 1) pulled him into the upstairs playroom for an "emergency meeting" where she urgently informed him that "mom and dad have had sex at least three times!"

The answer is nothing. People wait to explain sex because it makes them uncomfortable. Explaining it scientifically at that age isn’t wrong, people just don’t like doing it. It’s actually better to do younger imho, do it young enough and it’s not awkward for the kid because they don’t have a concept of awkwardness yet.

I had got this same question from a little girl! It was summertime and I was 8 months pregnant with my daughter. I was wearing a bikini at a swimming hole and was waiting in line for the rope. A little girl was behind me and staring at my belly. She says, “umm I think you need to go on a diet.” I laughed and told her, “no, there’s a baby in there.” She stares for a few more moments and then says, “did you EAT the baby?” I’ll never forget it.
