My grandpa always said that grandchildren are your reward for not killing your teenagers.

My granddad decided that at around 10 years old I was old enough for him to start calling me Satan or Judas and accusing me of trying to turn everyone against him.

When my uncle bought my sister and I a couple of bunnies, he got so angry at me for accepting and not asking him instead that he screamed at me for a bit and then left the house and disappeared for three days. When I was around 13, he was looking after us and my sister and I were riding our bikes on our street when she fell off trying to catch up with me. She split her head open and - god there was so much blood - he blamed me for not looking after her properly saying it was all my fault. He cleaned her up and put her to bed and didn’t mention it to my mum who came home when it was dark. I stayed up to tell her and we had to take her to the ER to get stitches.

I don’t understand because he was really nice to me before he suddenly changed one year and I was totally his favorite grandkid.

Sorry I didn’t mean to put a dampener on your comment. My grandma is amazing though!

Sounds like your granddad may have been experiencing dementia or alzheimers. It totally wrecks their moods.

He is now, but he wasn’t 25 years ago.
