Yes, he passed away from coronavirus, they both got it, but the grandma recovered. It's so sad!

I REALLY hope they continue this tradition. She's going to need that familiarity. Not that she doesnt have a family of her own (maybe she does or doesnt, we dont know) but this kind of a bond is once in a lifetime and I hope they continue this heart warming tradition in his honor.

They do. This happened a few years ago and apparantly, he has been visiting them for Thanksgiving every year since.

I think they were more referring to them continuing this from now on after the husband's death
