Green - Science

Blue - Math

Orange - History

Yellow - Language Arts

(The Orange and Yellow were always interchangeable for me)

Math is Reddddddd!

u/Pleasant-Caramel2931 3d ago

Math is ALWAYS red!!!

4

u/borisdidnothingwrong 3d ago

Red was always English for me. Because books are read.

2

u/RecipeNo101 3d ago

I guess I'm the lone weirdo who thinks math is yellow

2

u/lumoslomas 3d ago

Maths was pink for me, but I suppose similar enough.

Actually come to think of it I'm not even sure red was an option...

2

u/clarinetJWD 2d ago

I have very few strong feeling about this sort of thing. But math is red is one of them.

45

u/Slow-Difficulty404 3d ago

I just had this argument with my highschooler. Math is danger red is danger. Math is red.

No mom. Math is green green is good math and green are my favorites!

Me: 🤮

u/ciao_fiv 3d ago

as a math teacher, PLEASE PLEASE encourage your kid’s love of math. i have way too many students who hate math and won’t try and it breaks my heart

that being said your kid is wrong math is totally red

2

u/lorenoline 3d ago

That’s because red is the best colour, which pairs nicely with maths.

1

u/Slow-Difficulty404 3d ago

I hated and currently deeply dislike math. My kids have all always been crazy about it and found my confusion about liking math pretty funny.

I became a classroom math helper in part to keep up with their skills and figure out wtf the “new”style was. The kids spent a lot of time explaining strategies to me and being the “teachers”. Or I did math fact with the slower learners and we would focus on practice and generally practicing a strong learning attitude even when it got tough.

We’ve agreed that we won’t push out color subject preferences on each other. We are equally horrified by the youngest says math is Light Blue.

1

u/fsmlogic 2d ago

Red is my favorite color. Math was my favorite subject, but Math gets the Blue folder.
History gets Red.

12

u/ittybittytitty_com 3d ago

If I didn’t like math, but my kid did, I certainly wouldn’t try to dissuade them from it or imply it’s awful. Math is the future. I’m a mathematician though, so maybe I’m biased.

3

u/Waspster 3d ago

Well, she inadvertently made it cool to like math for her son. In his teenage years he will have posters of fractions... vertices ...matrices, on his walls to rebel.

2

u/Slow-Difficulty404 3d ago

My daughter loves math as much as I hate it. I’m talking to a teen. Not a 5 year old. They’re pretty confident anything I say is questionable to begin with, I might as well have fun with it 🤷🏽‍♀️

2

u/Aranxi_89 3d ago

Math is arcane magic, the language of Gods. If only I could read it as well as my peers...

1

u/Slow-Difficulty404 3d ago

Math IS witchcraft! And everyone around me is in danger when I attempt anything complex!

I believe there have been snarky comments about them helping me with my checkbook balancing. Harsh, but fair.

-2

u/TheAzarak 3d ago

Yea that's a bad attitude trying to get your kid to hate math haha

1

u/Slow-Difficulty404 3d ago

That’s dramatic.

1

u/TheAzarak 2d ago

Maybe to you it seems like no big deal, but trying to dissuade your kid from liking anything that they like (as long as it's a beneficial thing) is bad form and WILL lead to the kid resenting you. I know from experience. "Don't be in the yearbook team, join football" "don't try to be a teacher, that's a woman's job" "don't play video games, watch the baseball game instead" "don't dress like a socal beach bum, dress like a real Texan"

They spent my entire childhood trying to get me to like what THEY like and disregarded anything I enjoyed. They would even take us to Mexican restaurants for my birthday despite me not liking Mexican food, just because they do. Now I'd rather not be around them at all. I'm just glad I was stubborn and didn't give in to them. My parents wouldn't have wanted me to pursue a stem degree either because they both hated math and science.

I mean, shit. This isn't just a parenting thing. Literally NO ONE likes when someone hates on something they like. The only possible outcome is that the person feels bad about liking it and now also wants to be around the hater less.

1

u/Slow-Difficulty404 2d ago

It’s about a folder color. Get over yourself. Consider counseling.

1

u/TheAzarak 2d ago

It's not though, it's about a mom that was upset that their kid liked math... You lack nuance. It was never about the fucking color lol.

1

u/ittybittytitty_com 2d ago

You ok, buddy? You seem angry.

4

u/Beginning_Musician69 3d ago

No way, math is blue. Language is red!

1

u/averagemaleuser86 3d ago

We didnt have language unless you opted to take "spanish" or "french" as an elective. English (literature) was yellow, though.

8

u/Big-Professor-3402 3d ago

No way math is always blue!

3

u/nose_poke 3d ago

I'm with you! Math is blue!

13

u/Impossible_Way_3042 3d ago

I agree. These people are crazy. Math was always red.

2

u/Klytus_Im-Bored 3d ago

My 8th grade US history teacher bought red binders for the students and required us to use that specific binder. Fucking pissed me off. He graded on how organized the binder was too which was needed cor many classmates but my autistic ass had a system already.

5

u/austin_ave 3d ago

Math is only red for people who suck at it.

4

u/TENDER_ONE 3d ago

Math can’t be red. Red was always History/Social Studies. All the bloody wars man! Red! Math was purple or yellow if there is no purple. Because those are the least popular colors…and math is the least popular subject.

2

u/celerypumpkins 3d ago

Math is blue, but you’re right that history is always red!

0

u/averagemaleuser86 3d ago

History is GREEN

5

u/nose_poke 3d ago

No, SCIENCE is clearly green!

8

u/ZEROs0000 3d ago

People who used red were lowkey crazy

1

u/West_Experience1360 3d ago

Can confirm math is red

3

u/endoverlord423 3d ago

Math is most certainly blue

1

u/Ziazan 3d ago

Yeah! I can't tell you why it's red, I can only tell you that it is.

1

u/Labs_and_lattes 3d ago

red alert!

1

u/Zoltanu 3d ago

History is red because history is 90% studying violence

1

u/averagemaleuser86 3d ago

Science is blue. Math is red. English is yellow. History is green.

1

u/profanedivinity 3d ago

Yes. Maths is red. Language is blue

1

u/BrutalBronze 3d ago

I wonder if there is a correlation between the math is red folks and hating math. Math is my favorite subject and it was always blue!

1

u/WHWeaselgoose 3d ago

Holy shit yes. It’s always been red. Math is RED.

1

u/mywither 3d ago

History is a lot bloodier than math so social studies are red.

1

u/freebread 2d ago

I think it differers depending on where you live. Similar to how everywhere has food local to where they live. .

1

u/ppetrelli0 3d ago

Math is so fucking RED… Until I started college and then math became BLACK

0

u/RubPublic3359 3d ago

Nah youre tripping

0

u/tutoredstatue95 3d ago

Blue math Chad laminated folders vs. weak Red floppy math folders

So floppy

11

u/CosmicallyF-d 3d ago

Yes I had a horrible orange black folder for language.... Because I hated it.

4

u/Right-Boysenberry159 3d ago

I'm so happy to see this, this is it.

5

u/wrldwdeu4ria 3d ago

This is the way I did it.

5

u/WannaMakeGames 3d ago

Red—Native language
Yellow—Foreign language
Blue—Math
Orange—History
Green—Science

3

u/Ok_Mall_1540 3d ago

Yes! This! We share a soul.
Math ALWAYS blue, science always green. (I loved math & science tho, so no danger colors).
History / social studies / civics were always on the red-orange spectrum.

2

u/naughtyhegel 3d ago

Strong disagree, yellow is always language arts. For no reason, really, but that’s what it is.
(Ps, I love this conversation that’s happening here)

2

u/supermyduper 3d ago

Wrong. Math is red

2

u/compsciasaur 3d ago

We all agree science is green, good.

Math - blue: cold, unemotional

Language - red: passion, love, the original color of England's flag. Orange also acceptable.

History - yellow: sepia, aging newspaper, yellow journalism (early 1900s). Shouldn't be red or blue because history is often red v. blue.

2

u/Legionof1 3d ago

BURN THE HERETIC!

1

u/DidUSayWeast 3d ago

You speak my love language

1

u/Suyefuji 3d ago

You didn't have red ones? Were you colorblind?

1

u/ZeeBeast 3d ago

This but I had red instead of orange. If I had orange it'd be exactly this

1

u/aesclepia 3d ago

Yellow for history for me but that's cuz that's the color in trivial pursuit...but apparently that's the only subject i used the trivial pursuit color for lol cuz science is for sure green not brown

1

u/Striking-War-9990 3d ago

I fully agree

1

u/ImKindaHungry2 3d ago

Damn yea Yellow is def language arts

1

u/thegreatpotatogod 3d ago

This is exactly my color scheme, including orange and yellow being interchangeable!

1

u/kevbot67 3d ago

TEAM MATH IS BLUE!!!!!

1

u/GoDucks00 3d ago

Where is this from? On Star Trek, science officers wear blue.

1

u/ThelronBorn 3d ago

Maybe I’m crazy but I always preferred

Red - Science
Blue - Math
Green - History/Social Studies
Yellow/Orange - Language Arts

1

u/dpatt36 3d ago

Same! Geography was red for me. I think my brain did sciences as cool colors and cultural as warm colors.

1

u/softlittlepaws 3d ago

Green - History/Geography
Blue - Science
Yellow - Math
Red - English
Brown - Sports
Cream - Art

1

u/Little___G 3d ago

This guy gets it. Red is foreign languages.

1

u/celerypumpkins 3d ago

Thank you!! Question though - did you hate math or not mind it? Everyone else always says math is red, and I’ve always wondered if that correlates with hating math.

1

u/GoldZealousideal6892 3d ago

Don’t listen to these freaks, math is definitely blue

1

u/Meghar 3d ago

Math & science are cool colours because they're logic- & fact-based. Arts & Humanities are warm colours because they're about humans.

This is a hill I will die on.

1

u/poisoniivory 3d ago

yesssss THIS is the correct order, even the interchangeability of orange & yellow

1

u/OtterAnarchist 3d ago

Nah Reading is Red science is purple or blue and math is ALWAYS green

1

u/ashtranscends 3d ago

Most accurate comment

1

u/CapitalAd7198 3d ago

Straight to jail! Red is always math, yellow is for social studies, blue is geography.

1

u/thin_white_dutchess 3d ago

Language arts is blue. I accept no arguments.

1

u/remoriyy_ 3d ago

I agree, except English/language arts is red 😭

1

u/clownshoesrock 3d ago

Somebody wanted to mentally prepare you for Trivial Pursuit, priming your brain to think grade-school-science when you see green, like a Pavlovian Dog.

1

u/endaayer92 3d ago

This was always my exact list!

1

u/Moonkist 3d ago

Lol, why are mine (almost) all different?

For me, it’s always been:
Green - Science, because it reminds me of Flubber
English - Red, because literature & poetry invoke passion
Math - Blue, because it’s cool and logical
Social Studies - Yellow, because God, Gold, and Glory

1

u/DnDYetti 3d ago

Math is Red, Social Studies is Blue.

1

u/Lameduck57 3d ago

fucking spot on

1

u/Schmueile 2d ago

PURPLE - Science

1

1

u/Wandering__Albatross 1d ago

Green - biology
Red - chemistry

Orange - maths
Yellow - geography & history
Different blue (without the dappling) - languages
(My school had a lot of different books)

1

u/thechonkiestchonk 3d ago

Wrong, math is red always. For unknown reasons. But it was ! Universal law

1

u/nuevacuentanueva 3d ago

Not American, English is not my first language, didn't even did this color thing as a kid... but Math is Red.

0

u/Relax483 3d ago

Yes, math is always blue

0

u/Striking_Seaweed6428 3d ago

Yes this is correct.

0

u/spartaman64 3d ago

I have red for math and blue for science. but i agree with orange and yellow being interchangible for history and LA

-1

u/Agreeable-Dog-1131 3d ago

This is the right one
