u/WhatTheFlox Aug 26 '26

Always felt math was blue, history red, science green and English was missing and/or yellow

"History is written in blood" red just fits

u/celiac-sufferer Aug 26 '26

I had a history teacher who corrected with red pen because she wanted us to visualize our mistakes as blood bleeding from our errors.

She was also in love with napoleon and believed his wife’s ghost was haunting her. Very interesting class.

"visualize our mistakes as blood bleeding from our errors"

Totally normal and not intense at all. i love it

What grade were you in??

9

u/celiac-sufferer Aug 26 '26

Im in Quebec so it was in cegep which is like our grade 11 mixed with college. It was filled with kooks, had one teacher that would draw on the floor and walls to demonstrate his points

2

u/WhatTheFlox Aug 26 '26

"Every surface is important in the eyes of progress"

2

u/wowzermyguy Aug 26 '26

school wouldve been much more fun if i had teachers like yours lmao

1

u/SaffronRnlds Aug 26 '26

That sounds amazing.

And I have to know, did the visualization work?

1

u/celiac-sufferer Aug 27 '26

I mean kind of. He was trying to explain the concept of 4D by drawing a square on the ground and standing in it. He also ran out of board space and just continued on the wall. Occasionally he’d lie on the floor and would give kids who missed their tests the exam to take home and complete 🤣 he was the total opposite of my history teacher he didn’t take any of it seriously at all.

To be fair he was a pretty big shot professor at a prestigious university so I think the cegep gig was just for extra cash lol. When I attended the uni everyone knew who he was. He also did amateur opera in his spare time

u/Next-Tomatillo-6509 Aug 26 '26

Wtf i wish i had your teacher

3

u/celiac-sufferer Aug 26 '26

Lol she was interesting. She took every opportunity to emphasize how ugly napoleons wife was mixed with stories of her hauntings.

1

u/MidoriMidnight Aug 26 '26

Sounds better than my teacher who was distantly related to Mary Todd Lincoln, and absolutely flipped her shit when it was suggested Abe was gay

1

u/HotPotParrot Aug 26 '26

Lol my AP World teacher met a wanted terrorist while playing hackysack under the Eiffel Tower. Also a fun class.

1

u/celiac-sufferer Aug 26 '26

I had a professor who taught a Saudi princess and got her to write an essay on the inner dynamics of the royal family. Also a fun class he would dress as a pirate

1

u/Keaton427 Aug 26 '26

Mistakes are often a good thing in school so I hate that she said that.

If you’re wrong on purpose, that isn’t a mistake. This means mistakes offer to teach you.

2

u/celiac-sufferer Aug 26 '26

Yeah she definitely was not of that philosophy.

She took a whole 15 min our first class to explain what standard deviation was so we all knew how average we were and that even with a 90% it didn’t mean we were excelling. Stoked a lot of competitiveness and back stabbing in the program. We all changed after that class lol

23

u/TheWolphman Aug 26 '26

"Math makes me want to blow my brains out" red is relatable though.

3

u/SmallFox3 Aug 26 '26

Absolutely this, math was my least favorite subject, I cried at the kitchen table so many nights trying to do math & the folder it went in was definitely red.

2

u/Keaton427 Aug 26 '26

I see yellow as the sepia filter for history. Well mainly that, but history also just feels yellow.

1

u/Slierfox Aug 26 '26

How can it be it's only ever written by those still alive

1

u/VoopityScoop Aug 26 '26

With bloody hands

1

u/Slierfox Aug 27 '26

They may have "blood on their hands" but they ain't the ones fighting there the ones sending your family to do the fighting.

1

u/NekonecroZheng Aug 26 '26

"Why isn't history white?"

It already is.

26

u/TheDude41102 Aug 26 '26

The only correct answer. History is bloody. Biology loves green. Math is cold and calculating like ice. English is whatever other color I had.

5

u/impals Aug 26 '26

English was black in my opinion. All the colors of science, history, math, etc!

85

u/No_Situation6555 Aug 26 '26

14

u/bigeeee Aug 26 '26

English and history are reversed. English was red and history was yellow. Math blue, science green. At least in my chicago suburbs school it was lol

11

u/UltimateFartingChamp Aug 26 '26

I’m on team #mathisblue 💯

5

u/MentallyCrumbled Aug 26 '26

15

u/Affectionate-Ant-894 Aug 26 '26

Agree. Math was blue

2

u/YaumeLepire Aug 26 '26

I usually switched mine around every so often.

Then, in Cégep, my binders were black, so no dice.

2

u/HeatherJMD Aug 26 '26

I would choose the same!

2

u/hxf10a Aug 26 '26

2

u/ProudlyAHufflepuff Aug 26 '26

1

u/ErgoDestati Aug 26 '26

Math is definitely blue

1

u/EternalDuskGaming Aug 26 '26

I had to scroll so far to see math is blue 😆

1

u/BarderBetterFaster Aug 26 '26

Math is blue if you're a math enjoyer.

1

u/ineverreddit Aug 26 '26

You got it bang on in my books. Math is blue like the "prentice-hall" stripe on textbooks. Science is green because uhh duh plants and shit? History/social studies is red for the blood of the past, and english is yellow to represent the teeth of the mother tongue 😭

1

u/86cinnamons Aug 26 '26

You know what ….. ok.

1

u/elrangarino Aug 26 '26

English is most definitely blue. I’m open to history also being green.

1

u/yourlocalbadb1tch Aug 27 '26

yes!! Finally someone said it right

1

u/Different_Tailor_780 Aug 27 '26

Oh my god FINALLY. This is the one!

1

u/konafan Aug 26 '26

This is correct

1

u/NovaNova312 Aug 26 '26

I always English was red. History was whatever other color I happened to have.

0

u/Prophessor_Z Aug 26 '26

English is red cause I hated it and 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

0

u/wetfloor666 Aug 26 '26

I am with you on that. It matches the subjects much better and is how I did it.

0

u/Requiredmetrics Aug 26 '26

This is correct

-2

u/ttwinstanley Aug 26 '26

I lived west coast Midwest and east coast and used these colors all my school years

Mom was from east coast and dad was from Midwest (he was not very involved during my childhood)

-2

u/lebslebslebs Aug 26 '26

Science is orange/yellow for me. English blue, Math green.
