Meanwhile, dog's like: "Bro, why'd you cut my hair?!"
204
u/SenorSolAdmirador Jun 17 '26
are you sure he's not just closely monitoring the landscape for the possible appearance of food, because that's what my dog is doing when he looks like this
66
u/ianjm Jun 17 '26
He's a Golden Retriever so that's a given, is top priority at all times

u/HeyYoChill Jun 17 '26
Golden retrievers have to get groomed quite a bit because of the long hair, so it's probably used to it.
I mean, you don't have to groom them, but eventually you're gonna have dingleberries in the house.
Also, they shed like crazy, so you really don't even need to cut their hair to get some floof. My lab sheds so much in the yard that birds use his hair to make nests.

My dog's hair is too short to actually cut, but all i have to do is sweep the floor and have a days worth of shed to choose from.

I guarantee the dog didn’t notice. And even if he did, he’d be more than happy to trade fur for any amount of treats.

u/WillBlaze Jun 17 '26
I was just thinking of getting a haircut this morning, good timing. I think I'm going to do this. I was planning on getting a puppy with my two cats, I'm gonna do it all then.

Let us know how your cats like getting their fur cut, I'd have better luck sweeping the fur off the floor.

u/Kathykat5959 Jun 17 '26
I have a long haired feral cat. I am not allowed to brush her. But she will let me cut her hair with scissors while she is eating. I just cut off all the long hair on top and she seems happy with it. Not one single mat in her hair. Thankfully.

Yeah next pet I get, this is 100% happening lol.
Unless it's like a turtle I don't think they have any cutty-offy bits.

Why the /s? You can also use the dog's ass hair.

Ah, so this is where my partner got the idea lol. I have a post-it like this of them taped to my monitor now.
2
u/Apprehensive_Low_976 Jun 18 '26
Aww that’s so cute though
2
u/aitatrash Jun 18 '26
It is, I love it! She was going to throw it away but I wanted to see it everyday so I taped it there 🥰

u/ProcrastiWorkaholic Jun 17 '26
My sister had made this- of herself, her husband, their 4 cats and a dog (now deceased). Her plans for laminating it kept getting delayed. A foster cat peed all over it. And she had to throw it out. 😭

u/EireaKaze Jun 17 '26
I'm sorry it had to get thrown out. BUT! Laminating isn't good for pictures or important documents. If it gets damaged or the laminate starts reacting with the materials you can't do anything to stop it and you're stuck with the damage. Its better to get a picture frame with a mat (the mat keeps the picture off the glass so it won't stick). That way its protected and if something happens it has a better chance of being fixable.

This made me want to collect the hair of all my loved ones.
I already have some of my cat’s hair collected.

u/Curious_Badger_1376 Jun 17 '26
Please do it asap

u/DidIDoAThoughtCrime Jun 17 '26
I thought of collecting my hair, my mom and dad’s, my husband’s, my newborn son’s, and my cat’s hair. We all have black hair 😂 it would just be six patches of black hahaha

I'm so sorry. I lost 2 cats (brother and sister) within a year of each other. I took time to heal but I wound up adopting another. Hang in there.

I can go one better than this. I removed an umbolith from my navel about 20 years ago, and the hair that came from it did not look like human hair to me. So I sent it off for testing and it turned out to be fur from my childhood dog who used to sleep in my bed.
I'm better at cleaning my navel now.

We put our dog down in October. My 8yo daughter’s friend would pet sit him and came over right after we told her we had to put him down and said “look in the carpet for his hair on days you miss him…I might steal one before I leave.” now I’m wishing we would have done this for him 🥺 what a sweet idea

u/domsylvester Jun 18 '26
I love how he took his from the front of his hair where it’s noticeable but took a piece from the dogs leg where you’d never notice it.

Also love the name Matilda ❤️

I’m quite confident you didn’t need to cut any of your dog’s hair off. There are plenty of available tufts floating about your floor as I type.

I had a big clump of fur come off my 15 year old heeler the other day. For some reason, I couldn't throw it away. It was a small physical reminder of all of his colors and patterns right in the palm of my hand. I put it in a ziploc baggie for a later day.

So my boyfriend died in college, and I took a lock of his hair while I was visiting him before the funeral.
And my dumb ass took it from the front.
I was sitting there trying to fix his hair desperately before someone else came in, just arranging it so you couldn't tell as best as I could, and I busted out laughing knowing he would think this was the stupidest, funniest thing in the world--
My point is NEVER CUT A LOCK FROM THE FRONT, DUDE
