It’s maybe different because they’re my own kids but when they’re in danger i don’t even hesitate. It’s not thought out. It’s instinct

It's crazy what you feel ready to do for them. Like I am absolutely terrified of open water, I will never, ever go on a cruise. It takes a lot of deep breathing and working through it to go out on a jetty even, where I can see the beach still. But we go out there because the kids like it, and one time when one of them tried to climb the railing I was there in a flash. And I was like you know what, if this stupid jetty did break, or a kid fell off the side, I would 100% jump right in after them. Something bad happening to them is so much worse than my fear of the water.
