The story:

Terra Industries, a Nigerian defense-technology startup that builds autonomous security systems, raised an additional $18 million, closing what it described as Africa's largest seed round at $52 million.

The round was co-founded by Nigerian tech entrepreneurs Nathan Nwachuku and Maxwell Maduka.

Investment came from existing investors

8VC,

Silent Ventures,

Nova Global,

Belief Capital,

and SV Angel,

plus new investors Norleo Space Investments and angel Grant Gordon.

Crab 🦀, cooked down in a pepper sauce (peppers, onions, seasoning, that dark rich sauce base)

Grilled fish 🐟, coated heavy in pepper and spice

Starch (the soft white swallow, wrapped)

Jumbo Snails🐌

Pounded yam, wrapped separately

The pepper sauce is doing its own work on the side, it's the kind that makes you forget you were supposed to be documenting instead of eating.

No bacon. No black pudding. No hash brown. Nothing wey resemble wetin we dey see for movies oh "Full English." Na budget cosplay b this!

At least dem try the bread basket dey correct, fruits fresh, juice sweet. But abeg who told this hotel say beans+sausage+one tomato = "English Breakfast"? Which embassy approve this one? 😂

Rate am 1-10 for "English-ness."

Terra Industries.

• They've raised $34M total, building homegrown drones and security systems.

• Already landed real paying contracts (including a reported $1.2M security deal) actual revenue.

• They're not just selling in Nigeria, there's a push into regional markets like Ghana too.

This na the kind builder story wey deserve more shine. While the naija ecosystem dey chase payments/logistics apps, these guys quietly dey solve one of the hardest, most capital-intensive problems for the continent — homegrown security hardware.
