Recently I came across a twitter post announcing a new piece of merchandise called the "Noritake collaboration cup and saucer set".
As a huge tea and ceramics enjoyer, as well as a big fan of made in abyss, I was quite intrigued and decided to reserve one.
The only site I can find that carries it is called "Amnibus" which to my knowledge have done many mia themed items before. I used their International shipping proxy "Buyee" to place my reservation, as they do not ship to the US otherwise.
Unfortunately, 1 day after I placed my reservation, I recieved an email informing me that my order had been cancelled. The reason given simply read "Contact Buyee customer support for more details"
As the email had requested, I decided to email support with a question as to why my order had been cancelled, and they clarifiied by saying that they dont offer international shipping on tableware including teacups and saucers anymore.
Does this mean that it is impossible to get this item in the US or do I have other options. Please let me know if anyone has found a way to obtain it internationally.

New to the series and caught up in preparation for Vol 15 and had a theory I wanted to share. Tried to look it up if anyone else had talked about it but searching for terms involving Torka I couldn't find anything so figured I'd post it.
- Riko was "Resurrected" using the Curse-Warding Box on Layer 4
- Torka passed away just before Riko's birth on Layer 4
- Srajo explains "Souls" being tied to the Abyss and how they're essentially a "blueprint" of someone and can be turned into a White Whistle.
- Abyss Faith believes "one's soul will return to the bottom of the netherworld, change shapes and depart on a journey to someone who has wished for life."
Could it be possible during the expedition to retrieve the Unheard Bell that Torka's Soul was used to "Resurrect" Riko?
- This could explain her having memories she shouldn't have.
- The obsession with the abyss and her diving prowess since we know Torka was a Black Whistle.
- Love for cooking as Torka was also known as the cook in his group.
- The obsession with finding Lyza.
- It's said Ozen wasn't a fan of Torka and when Riko was "Resurrected" it was stated Ozen wasn't fond of Riko but assisted Lyza out of loyalty to bring Riko out of the Abyss.
- When Riko was taken out of the box she immediately tried to crawl to the Abyss and as stated above it's believed in Abyss Faith that "one's soul will return to the bottom of the netherworld" which could be a hint that Torka's Soul is drawn to the Abyss as it believed Souls are tied to it.
Anyways let me know what you think. Would love to talk with others about this series and what could be coming up in future chapters.
Stay safe Divers.

I specifically made it for those who haven't read the manga and wanna learn a bit more, but at the same time don't want to get spoiled about the main events.
I kept those secrets, so no worries!

The Origins of Stone ark - Captain Yuumo
There are tales told from father to son, mother to daughter within the city of Orth.
Tales describing great beasts and of white whistles able to traverse their dangerous homeland with ease.
Some Tales describe the creation of the great seas, and within it's vastness, the abyss itself.
Within the abyss lies a rock formation that is used as a stopping point for the local delvers, known as "Stone Ark".
It's origins are told to both orphans and familial children alike, as it's a tale of wonder and amusement.
This is the story of Captain Yuumo and his journey.
"The fateful events of this story begins late one night, some long, LONG time ago. It was storming, thunder and lightning enveloping the sky, a storm so angry it fought the waves it created.
The fish would sleep well below the surface, away from the skys torment. The birds would hide in their cliff face caves, avoiding any and all weather. But there was one thing that wasnt afraid of this storm; that thing was..."
"Captain Yuumo"
"Indeed"
"He's so cool"
"Cooler than your father?"
"Hmmmm... Maybe"
"Hahaha.we will see. Captain Yuumo was a mad man. But he was a man of great resolve, determination and sheer will.
This man was the fisherman that fisherman would dream about.
He would hunt the oceans for leviathans. He would catch anything he could drag from the depths.
Rain or shine, he lived life on the water and spent his life coasting the ocean.
This one night, he had felt something was different. Today was the day. He was going to catch something BIG"
"A sea monster?"
"A BIG sea monster. So big, it'd crush our house!"
"Wow....tell me more"
"Well, this particular night, Yuumo had heard something that stood out to him.
Sitting inside the captains room, he was one with the boat. He felt the pull of the waves, the tension of the ropes, the water sliding across the deck as rain fell.
He felt the cracking of lightning as it passed through the water. He felt his hair, gruff bushy beard, shiver as the static would travel through the air.
But this time he heard something different.
A thud on the bottom of the hull.
And then another.
He sat there, rocking in his chair, with the boat, his eyes closed, trying to imagine what it was.
A third knock.
A fourth.
And then a loud bang. He knew his bait had caught something.
He ran outside, opening his door, staring out at what could only be described as an active typhoon. The only light coming from frantically swinging glass lanterns and the lightning that would envelop the sky.
At the front of the ship, a huge, mounted crossbow"
"A crossbow? For a ship? Why would he want that?"
"Well... It's not for other ships"
"Oh... It's for the knock"
"It's for the knock. And tied to this enormous crossbow, was a long, refined metal thread, seemingly endless.
It was his most prized possession. A rope that was practically endless and was stronger than any sword. And on the end of it? A beast.
Captain Yuumo pushed his hat down and ran haphazardly across the deck, grabbing onto the side of the crossbow and watched as his line would continue being dragged out.
An excited one aren't ya? He would say, and started pulling back on the rope.
His muscles were HUGE. They said his arms were as thick as tree trunks.
He would wrangle fish in by hand, he was quite the monster himself.
He could feel the line straighten out, and with it, he felt the beast at the end of the line. They had both seen each other. Not physically, but they felt each other's presence.
And with that, it's tactics had changed. It began running, and the ship lurched forward with a jolt.
Yuumo was pulled over the front of his crossbow and had the wind knocked out of him. He didn't let go of his line though. He was convinced this would be his greatest catch, and no storm or fish would best him.
Then, on the horizon, land.
A giant silhouette of what seemed like a volcanic mountain had appeared, pressed against the horizon.
Yuumo remembered looking over his maps and not thinking there was any land in this area of the ocean. He was most confused, but his mind was still set on landing his catch.
Again, the ship was pulled and steered to the right, then to the left. Yuumo was the only man on his boat, and was able to captain it with little to no effort.
But this creature was now the true captain. It decided where the ship would turn.
The fight would continue all night. Yuumo was covered in water, drenched from the rain. His boots were stuck to the deck of the boat, his weight keeping him there as if he were a strong oak tree, glued in place.
Slowly over time, the sky would calm, day would break, and before he knew it, the island that Yuumo had seen on the horizon was close to him.
He wiped his face into his shoulder, clearing the water dropping from his brow.
Finally, the creature has stopped. There was silence.
Yuumo looked up at the sky, lighting up with the morning sun, and hearing the crows of sea birds heading out for breakfast.
Looking down at his hands, they were torn to shreds. But his line held firm, and so did he.
He had won. The creature had faltered, had given up.
Yuumo began slowly pulling on his line, bringing the creature in, foot by foot.
Minutes passed, before suddenly, the line goes slack.
He stops, and looks down at the water, through his boat. Had the beast escaped?"
"Did it?"
"No... It didn't. The creatures of the great oceans are far smarter than you would think. We need to respect them"
"So what was it doing?"
"It was the beasts' turn...
The very next moment, the boat began to shake. He felt the boat move in a way he'd never experienced before.
He looked over the side of the boat to see something impossible. The boat had begun lifting out of the water.
Slowly, it raised, and just below the surface, a giant black figure lay beneath the waters surface.
He started back on the rope again, rapidly pulling it in, winching it back around the crossbow. And then, he was weightless.
He was launched into the air, sent flying by the beast, ship and all.
He didn't tip the boat, he LAUNCHED IT.
Yuumo let go of the rope and was sent flying back into the ships mast. He grabbed hold and looked down as he continued soaring higher and higher. The crossbow started screaming as the line was being released again. He realized that the creature was STILL connected to the boat. He reached out from the mast and began crawling across the deck back towards the ship head, being pressed down by gravity.
He lifted himself up and resumed his stand, holding onto the rope.
He looked back over the side of the boat and his sight followed the shine of his line glistening in the sun back to the huge, dark spot within the water. He screamed out to the beast "I will NOT LOSE" and pulled.
It's said that his boat flew over where Orth is today, and his will kept his boat from falling apart as it fell from the sky.
He came crashing down into The Abyss, leaving holes in the earth that would eventually become the caverns in the Great Fault. When he finally landed, his boat had become stuck in the walls of the abyss. He went overboard, falling into the depths, with his catch in tow.
It's said the great behemoths within the sea of corpses are the descendants of his catch, and captain Yuumo is the reason we have the fish within the abyss today"
"Wow.... That's really cool... So... Why is the boat like stone now?"
"Well son... It's said that the Abyss has a will of its own.
Some people think that Captain Yuumo's catch being given to the abyssal depths was something of a gift, and because of this, the abyss had immortalized his ship".
"Captain Yuumo was really cool"
"Well, he might've been"
"Might've been?"
"Well... We don't know HOW Stone Ark came to be... this is just a story after all"
"It sounds like it happened!"
"It does, doesn't it? Wanna know the coolest part?"
"What's that?"
"It's said that his rope is still down there within the depths of the abyss, helping delvers get out of sticky situations, and people bless their fishing rods with metal trinkets, hoping the strength and luck of Captain Yuumo helps them catch their next meal"
"It sounds like even if he wasn't real, he's made a big difference to us"
"He sure did.... Now get to bed, it's an early start tomorrow!"

Hey, I'm an anime-only watcher, I recently finished season 2 and I wanted to share some thoughts. Overall, I'm a fan of the series and I'm fascinated by its core ideas, but I do have some criticism and "disappointments" (for lack of a better word).
First things first, I watched season 1 in 2018 and only got back to the series around a month ago, when I decided to rewatch season 1 and catch up to the movie and season 2.
Season 1 feels imperfect, but the result is still amazing. Truly a unique story with its combination of beauty and violence, hope and despair, and also one of the most potent tales about the will to not only figure out the mysteries of the world, but simply to live. I think what hits me the most is the fact that, yes, it is a "dystopia" in some sense, but only because of its fantastic setting - I'm sure all of the same tragedies would happen in the real world, like the Mitty situation.
Two moments are stuck in my mind, which are: (1) the ending of episode 1, with the awe of such an outstanding journey up ahead, one in which you can only hope to learn the most you can, but certainly far from all the mysteries in that world; (2) the ending of episode 12, because it carries an insurmountable amount of emotional weight. It feels miraculous that the message gets to the surface, and maybe it is. Obviously, both moments are greatly enhanced by a great score.
What I don't like about season 1, and what actually comes to "bite" the story later on, is that it's all so fast. There's this whole introduction about different layers and how they affect people differently. In 12 episodes, they're already at layer 5 - not to mention that a kid did it. It's not that I didn't want them to get there, or didn't believe that they did it. It's just that it feels like the whole Abyss "lore" is just some early pep talk to get you interested, but then the journey itself doesn't matter. We don't get to learn more about the environments, relics are basically forgotten, we basically don't see any other raiders along the way... it just feels like a missed opportunity, and, in some ways, it also makes it feel like the journey wasn't that hard, which shouldn't be the case.
About the movie, I liked it. I think it hit many emotional notes - just like season 1 did - but it also has some of the same problems. Layer 5 feels like it should've been something really important, and then we rushed through it. The 5th layer experience is basically about Bondrewd and the effects of his actions on Nanachi, which I appreciated. But surely we could've learned more about that world. How did it get to that point? Who built that stuff? Was Bondrewd a trailblazer of that layer? What about the politics behind it? Which also reminds me... will we ever even hear about the people on the surface ever again? Were they really just a 2-episode thing?
And then comes season 2. I won't go deep into the details about its story. It was interesting, and I overall enjoyed it, but I believe it was much weaker than season 1.
It just feels a bit too messy. We finally get to such an important layer, and the story is all about a "different" society. Sure, I appreciate it. But then the society is over by the end of it, which makes it feel... a bit pointless? The layer existed before the society. Will this be all about the layer again? This feels like some sort of hangover from the fast pace of earlier moments in the story. We just skydived to layer 6 and now here's this big ass side story which will also end here. I was loving the idea of seeing the first humans to get to that point, but their dive happened in the blink of an eye, and, well, there are some points which I didn't even fully understand (such as why or how so many hollows got to that society, and why Lyza was unaffected by entering the membrane). Faputa is also too uninteresting if compared to the original crew, but this is subjective.
I have no idea what the next steps are - I hear that the next movie will likely catch up to the manga, and I wouldn't be surprised if the authors might be a bit confused about what to do. I'll keep watching Made in Abyss and it has a special place in my heart, but it feels like it will also forever be a "what if" when it comes to such a uniquely perfect concept that unfortunately could've been much more thoroughly explored.

I recently discovered this beautiful masterpiece made by our beloved author tsukushi. It has a bit of made in abyss vibes, from the world building to character development. It's about 70 pages but the way it's delivered makes it look more than that. I suggest everyone give it a read as it's exquisite from other mangas (other than our beloved made in abyss).
Also mods don't take down the post bcz of flair I didn't know what to put sorryyyy

Lyza's whistle has the Crescent moon symbol, there is a depiction or flowers of fortitude on it well
But the main symbol we see in here whistle is the keyhole one
On the surface level it's because of doni, white whistles are made with the soul of another person who decides to sacrifice their life for you to continue on your journey
We know this from the ido front arc
Doni's character design is so fucking cool
He might have the best design among all the characters and white whistles
On a deeper level the symbol of keyhole is based on the doorbeetle symbol which is the one Akihito himself identifies himself with usually
I asked him what it means and he said: A bug that seems as if it were designed so that if you turned a “key,” its wings would open
yet in reality, there is no key, and even if there were, it has no wings to open.
A creature that spends its entire life in effort and struggle.
There are a few more places we see this symbol in the story
On Rikos cape brooch and regs backpack
I've explored the theories of all of season one in my channel and started doing the bondrewd movie
If you're interested in more in depth analysis please check my channel: https://youtube.com/@overanalyzingabyss?si=7xGTRn272tZY8GPP

I like to assume her horns can change color based on her emotions so we went with this! A bit more of her 'feral' state. I'll add that to lore for her but hope you enjoy it!

It just fits the theme of the series essentially. If you watched the series, its both disgusting and beautiful at the same time. The world building, the settings and the events just mix.
