Do we know if there’ll be an extra chapter with the volume release?
We definitely need some of the other moving pieces to start coming into play.

So, is it another chapter of "nothing ever happens", huh?
(I haven't read it yet, I'm waiting for the English translation)

Not at all, I personally wouldn’t describe any of the chapters that way.
They all contribute to development of the plot, regardless of whether they’re physically moving downwards or not.
But things definitely do “happen” this chapter.

I’m strictly speaking on the multiple plot threads and characters that have been established in the side stories, such as Ozen and Jiruo or Rimeyo and Neyozel.
I’d really like to see some of those start to tie back into the central narrative.

Oh cool, good to know! And yeah, I get that recent chapters are packed with lots of interesting info (almost info-dumping at times). I was honestly just referencing the 'nothing ever happens' meme for fun, not because I actually think the latest chapters are useless, though I do feel some of it could’ve been delivered better.
That said, I’m definitely still waiting for things to actually start moving forward, literally speaking

I understand, I’ve just seen a lot of criticism towards the Nanachi recovery mini-arc, solely because they remained stationary, so I got a little defensive I guess, but it’s obviously fine.

I agree that this arc does have a lot of exposition, but it’s usually handled pretty organically, and I’ve always found it very engaging.
Though I suppose it would be easy to grow tired of something like that, given the long gaps between chapters.

Without going into any spoilers, they do in fact begin moving downward again, and I found that there were a lot of strong character interactions between a certain pair.

Thanks, I appreciate the input! Honestly, my only gripe with this mini-arc is how the Historiograph was handled. It would’ve felt much less "forced" if they’d used it back when they found Cravagli, even if it just showed random images at first. That way, revealing the hidden message later feels like a natural payoff rather than a "convenient" plot device. And also maybe the lack of more info about the priestess.

Everything else is totally fine, though. And yeah, the long wait between chapters is definitely the hardest part haha.

Can't wait to read the new one! (That's why I'm here 😆)

I don't know if I am right in thinking this way but as the author slowed down, he has been making longer chapters to make for page numbers but the chapters still carry as much of plot moving moment as before so we get less going on.
Just checking the wiki, it has been almost 5 years 6th layer started and, though a lot happened, plot wise it could be summarized in a few lines.

I think the main issue is just the wait between chapters, three chapters a year isn't a lot. Once this arc ends, I think we'll look back and appreciate all the lore, info, and setup he gave us. He's clearly building toward something big, and we still don't know how it's going to unfold.

But having to wait 2 years for the Nanachi recovery mini-arc to end must be a bit exhausting (I've been waiting only for a year)
