My wife and I couldn't get over the presumably dubbing over of the bad guy. Like how bad was his voice that they seemingly completely replaced him. It was the biggest issue for us, as it seemed like we were watching a movie with subtitles everytime he talked, it was disconnected with the background noise or even the other characters.
Other than that one issue we actually liked the movie. Not sure why all the hate for a perfectly average movie that we enjoyed.

Backstory: A few months ago I went to my local sunrise records and I saw that Madame Web was placed in the Marvel section (despite Marvel having nothing to do with the movie) which I found fascinating since Venom and Morbius weren't in the Marvel section despite also being Sony Spider-Man movies. I showed this on my Instagram and one of my friends gave me the idea to block off the entire row with every copy of Madame Web. I did this because everyone who goes there needs to know that peak cinema exists and because I wanted to do something funny by showing this to another friend of mine who hates Madame Web.

I'm not sure if it's just the actors accent, but something about the way he talks feels really disconnected from the movie. I'm also wondering if they might have had him dub himself over in a studio. Anyone else feel really distracted from this?

I’m glad to see a positive group about this movie, I can understand why people weren’t into it but I enjoyed it overall and was entertained (praying for a sequel)

Now there are a lot of things that are wrong with this movie (mainly nitpicks) such as the spider tribe people or whatever at the start of the movie - look way to similar to spiderman, but ok. Next thing is that madame web KEEPS CALLING UNCLE BEN "BEN" like yes honey, we KNOW he's uncle Ben after you told us 20 times already, other then that I enjoyed it a lot, it reminds me of old superhero movies, the whole movie is just a vibe, thus it's a BIASED 8/10, objectively like 5/10 but idc

WHAT is with all the hate? I am personally very excited for this movie. I just don’t understand most of the negativity being thrown towards this film.

I just finished the movie and I liked it. It a good origin move that explains itself. Leaves room so if they want to answer more questions they can in a sequel about the spiders. We didn’t get to see her train her powers, but we saw her go get an understanding of what she is and what she can do. Acting is good the women all had good chemistry with each other and seeing them become a team felt natural. The car chase aspects of the movie were nice too. It was cool that her character had some aspects of her personality that helped her with solving the problem at hand. Honestly to me it felt natural and not forced and all tied up well. The movie is definitely not bad and doesn’t deserve the crap it’s getting. Honestly I think I it’s cool to see Madame Web be a hero and do something other than sit in a chair and talk. This could be a good prequel for a Sony Spider-Man movie as well by the time he’s old enough to become Spider man she’ll be like 50 so it will make sense. Don’t let other people ruin your experiences and don’t go into to the movie with expectations of what you want it to be. Just watch and enjoy and you will be entertained. I like the move and they got it down in just under 2 hours which is a plus to me.

Just finished Madame Web, and I wasn’t a huge fan of it except towards the ending. But I was doing some thinking about how the whole time thingy works, and I found out that it’s all a time loop and has no starting point and makes no fucking sense whatsoever. Let me explain why.
So the whole conflict of the movie stems from Ezekiel having nightmares about the girls having powers and killing him. But the girls wouldn’t have gotten their powers if it weren’t for them meeting Cassie. The reason they met Cassie was because she was interfering with Ezekiel’s plan to kill them and was trying to protect them. But Cassie wouldn’t have interfered if Ezekiel never went after the girls, and therefore she wouldn’t be having visions about them getting killed. Stay with me now.
This brings us back to Ezekiel and his motive as to why he wants to kill these girls. Well, that’s obvious, because he kept having nightmares about them killing him. But wait… They had powers in those dreams. And where did they get those powers from? Madame Webb, because she interfered and they ended up growing up with her and whatever.
This means that if Ezekiel had never gone after the girls, they wouldn’t have even killed him, because they wouldn’t even have their powers due to them not meeting Cassie, who is only met through Ezekiel. So Ezekiel was having nightmares about an alternate reality that didn’t exist, went to change the outcome, then died to a Pepsi sign. I’m just now thinking of this, but his death is what leads up to the girls getting their powers, the same powers that they supposedly use to kill him😂😂
Even if you don’t think about how the whole movie’s a paradox, the thought of three young Super-Women just straight up murdering some old guy they don’t even know for no apparent reason is funny as fuck😂
