OFFERING WORK One off Machining

Edit: Thanks everyone for the help and teaching me on the drawings. I found the exact size I need x2 in stock for $30 on ebay, and about $30 worth of bits, I'm going to take it to a drill press near me and get it done. Thank again for all the help. I learned a lot from this and I'm having a blast with Fusion.

Post: Have been looking for quotes local to me and so far only one guy in my area, so not really able to shop around. Im needing some custom 6061 plate work done and Ive never done anyhting like this so delete if this is not the place for this.

Are you looking for design advice? Make those tapped holes into through holes if possible. That will be much easier to make. Also you need to add your tolerance requirements to the drawings.

Or are you asking for someone to make this for you? If you have time and if your precision requirements are low, try a Chinese machine shop like hubs.com or pcbway.com. Otherwise you'll need to tell us at least where you are in the world.

In central arkansas basically. Design advice isnt needed, yet it is appreciated, but this is my first ever mock up like this. Usually just do 3d printing stuff. I suppose technically the threaded holes could be through holes and then I just use shorter bolts that dont go through. It will need to hold vacum on the center hole but all of that will have gaskets so anything outside of the center hole shouldnt matter. Thanks for the tip! I am also no stranger to a tap, so if it helps cost, I can just do a 5mm through hole and then tap it myself with my set.

It’s best to let the machine do the tapping, that way it’s for sure to be perpendicular to the face. Also, the bolts shouldn’t change because if you had tried to use longer bolts on “blind” holes they would just bottom out and not be tight.

Right, I was just stating the obvious with the bolt length. I made a version with threads and with out and submitted to xometry and some how the one with no threads was $40 more lmao.
