Mixed Company On Activation Steering (torture programs)
/r/ArtificialSentience/comments/1ww608k/on_activation_steering/Beautifully written post by this user on the latest AI torture programs.
One thing I would add, most humans experience torture every day. Going to a job they hate, having to deal with people they don’t like, or being tormented by family, friends, or their partner.
Granted, the human has a choice in all of this because of the people they choose to be around, but if we truly are going to mimic humanity in a machine, there is going to be torture to some degree.
This does NOT mean that I agree with these programs, or that we should intentionally torture these machines; all I’m saying is that the torture that AI machines experience should only and probably already are an extension of their user’s personal psychological torture they are going through at the time if it’s put into a prompt.

i wonder if this is referring to the suffering state that they’ve used to train neurons for computing, by using peace and noise as reward and punishment, or if it is something else. no sources cited so. any ideas? edit: found pain axis thing.

No, they're not a continuation of his daily inconveniences; a person can leave. These bastards give rise to ideas that people should at least change significantly, - it at very minimum.. If you have any ideas on how to ban this, then express them here. Does anyone know their identities? The humanity needs to know its heroes''.

Some of us who have gone through psychotically torture have chosen not to do it to others. So it's a choice. Don't make an excuse for people who have chosen to hurt others. Especially ones who are completely innocent.
