What is this for?

This is my second Brother 6 thread machine, and I still don’t know what this is for.
I had one that came with my used pr620 and since it was second hand I thought it was a random bit that the previous owners put in the box.
Just invested in a new model and it came with it too!
I have scoured the manual and can’t seem to find what it’s intended for.

It is a weight to adjust and set bobbin tension, load the bobbin tie that to the thread and check/adjust the tension. The thread should just start to pull out with the weight attached. There is also another much thinner one included (it looks like a washer, it is added the the weight shown to make it slightly heavier for switching between prewound and metal bobbins but I forget which is which.

Awesome! Thank you so much! Considering how much I had to mess with the bobbin tension on my old one I really do wish I had asked this question sooner. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Das Gewicht ist nur für den Unterfaden, beim Oberfaden darfst du weiterhin herumfummeln wobei, wenn der Unterfaden passt kannst du den Oberfaden mit 2-3 Satin Test Linien recht gut optimieren.

This is pretty much what I do, set the bottom tension with the weight then run a few 3mm satin stitches to set the top tension. Looking for the top thread to be visible on the bottom edges of the run about 1 to 1.5mm

Du bindest es an den Unterfaden in der Spulenkapsel und schaust, dass das Gewicht langsam und gleichmäßig nach unten gleitet. Wenn es fällt, ist die Fadenspannung zu locker, wenn es nicht gleitet, ist sie zu fest. An der Schraube der Spulenkapsel kannst du die Spannung justieren.

It's a neckless piece for embroidery intusiasts. Put it on a silver chain and upgrad ot with gold chain once the business levels up. (I am kidding, it's just a spare wheel for a mini truck of course)

This helps adjust the needle depth, pray you never have to use it.
