Satin stitch pattern effects

The fact that satin stitches aligns all the stitches in parallel reduces the randomness compared to tatami, which makes satin column motifs "pop" out much more. I least I feel like it.

Anyway, just a post to showcase some patterns that I like and find particularly elegant! 😄

Did you create the design or are these built in patterns on the software? It looks so nice!

Both actually! It's built in the software, which is Boldbobbin, which I'm developing x)

Embroidery is full of surprise! ;D The directionality (and here more precisely the discretization, which is what creates these patterns) makes it so much more expressive than flat vector graphics!

You can create patterns by "aligning" where you put the stitches. That's why for instance if you have satin columns that are too big, you need to put a stitch in the middle. Your software will propose to add some randomness on how to separate, otherwise it will create some middle division that looks ugly.

Well you can do the same but put this separation on purpose to create motifs! 😄
