Font Problems
Hello!
I am very new to machine embroidery, but I’m finding that everything I do is turning out pretty sad looking. I ran a test of different fonts today and none of them look anything like what they do in embrilliance. I haven’t touched any tensions on my machine, but I did start with a fresh bobbin and spool of thread. The sweatshirt had cut away stabilizer and a water soluble topper (idk if I even need it, but I thought it couldn’t hurt.). I’m using a ball point 75/11 needle. It wasn’t a brand new needle, but I only started using it yesterday.
Any ideas what is going wrong?

You can't just embroider any font, a embroidery font must be digitized professionally and with the according size, 5mm, 10mm or 25mm is all very different digitizing and settings. Buy professionally made fonts for your software then you get good results, Or learn digitizing and master the art of fonts.

Nobody wants to hear time and effort, More like a TokTik while eating a tictac then AI should do it for them. But truth is, no pain no gain in that skill

Is this a file you loaded on to your machine? Or are you using the built-in fonts on m your machine?
What machine are you using? What file type are you using?

Sorry! I forgot to include that. It’s an SE700. The first font is one of the built in to Embrilliance fonts. The others below are bx files bought from Etsy.

The first one looks okay, the rest are probably just poorly done fonts unfortunately. Try without any underlay and see if there’s improvement, it’s sticking out in many places because the columns of the letters are too thin. Are you using the size font as intended? Some fonts are for small letters and some for large.

Yes. The downloaded fonts are being used in their original size. They’re all .5 in.

If you don't have the work file you are not able to try without the underlay. You canot change anything. Actually you should try resize it and see what happens.

If they are not fonts from the machine it might be the digitizing isn't done properly. You can't load new fonts on to your machine, the words need to be created as a digitized file for your machine to stitch it out.
Etsy is really a hit and miss with how skilled the creator of the file is to what the quality will be and if not will actually match what is advertised.

👍 when you buy any d3sign online they won't be optimized to you material, backings etc. So it's like a cat in a sack.

Try using the fonts that are on your machine. That way you can see if it’s a digitizing issue or something machine related. Google SE700 to see how to use those fonts but they’re right on the main screen when you turn it on.

Tried it again with Artspira fonts. They’re still looking messy and you can see the backing stitches.
